A Look at Standard's Stars

Earlier this week, I covered Makihito Mihara's Standard deck with Born of the Gods. Today, I have Aaron Lewis's decklist, which is absolutely chocked full of Born of the Gods cards!

Meletis Astronomer

Aaron used Hero of Iroas to bestow Eidolon of Countless Battles and Hopeful Eidolon on the cheap. Brimaz, King of Oreskos unsurprisingly makes an appearance and works pretty well with Eidolon of Countless Battles. Meletis Astronomer keeps the gas flowing. Having a cheap way to trigger heroic, such as Ethereal Armor or Ordeal of Thassa, is incredibly important, as playing multiple spells per turn is the easiest way to get ahead.

If you enjoy building a giant monster, then you should check out Aaron's deck. Although Standard has a lot of removal, bestow mitigates the downside of creating a huge creature. I would like to see some of the sideboard Gods Willings make their way into the main deck, though. Being able to protect your creature or force through lethal damage seems really important for this type of deck.
