Sneak and Show is a Legacy deck named for its key cards: Sneak Attack and Show and Tell. It uses these cards to put Griselbrand or Emrakul, the Aeons Torn into play, expecting that an attack with either one will generally be good enough to win the game.

Through the Breach

The fact that neither Sneak Attack or Show and Tell is legal in Modern could be considered a significant disincentive to attempting to port the deck to Modern, but that kind of thinking isn't what leads to creative decks.

Today's deck isn't a new creation; it's been around for awhile, but it's not a deck I hear about often. It's one of the more fringe, under-the-radar Modern combo decks.

Like Sneak and Show, the entire deck is based on getting a single attack with Griselbrand or Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, and, like Sneak and Show, it has two cheap ways to get them into play. The first, Through the Breach, is basically a one-time Sneak Attack. If one is all it takes, that's just about as good. The second, Goryo's Vengeance is very different from Show and Tell. It only offers one attack instead of leaving the creature in play, but it lets you get that attack right away. It also requires a little more setup, because the creature has to be in your graveyard, but it doesn't let the opponent put anything into play, and it gives you a hasty attack, which means the opponent doesn't have a turn to play an answer.

The exciting thing about the Modern version is its use of Fury of the Horde. Attacking once with Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or Griselbrand is extremely powerful, but if you're using several cards to do it, and your deck doesn't do much else, it really isn't enough to win most games. However, if you attack twice with Emrakul, the Aeons Torn, your opponent is probably dead, and if you attack twice with Griselbrand with Fury of the Horde in your deck, you'll probably be able to find another Fury of the Horde to attack a third time—and a fourth, if the first three somehow weren't good enough.
