PAX Prime is quickly approaching, and Magic will be there in force! We're going to completely take over the Annex with epic panels, celebrity guests, exclusive previews, sweet swag giveaways, tons of chances to play Magic—oh, and a little thing we call the Magic World Championship will be happening at the same time. Mark your calendars: Friday, August 28 through Monday, August 31 is a major moment for the global Magic community, and you won't want to miss it!

All times listed below are Pacific (UTC -7), West Coast time in the United States.

Saturday, August 29, 7:30–8:30 p.m.

With Battle for Zendikar just around the corner, we are pulling out all the stops for our one-hour preview show. Don't have a pass to PAX Prime? No worries! We will also be live streaming the event via Twitch. Now you have no excuse to miss it—not that you'd want to miss a second of this show! Hosted by Wil Wheaton and Ashly Burch, this show will feature fabulous celebrities and Magic personalities, exclusive looks at new cards and set mechanics, and heart-pounding previews of terrifying monsters and spectacular heroes.

Guys. It's gonna be epic.

Saturday, August 29, 4–7 p.m.

Before the preview show, you can join the battle and help save Zendikar from the Eldrazi! All afternoon, an army of celebrity Spellslingers—including Wil Wheaton, Felicia Day, the crew from LoadingReadyRun, and more—will be battling on the side of the Eldrazi. Challenge them to a duel in the name of the Zendikari and receive sweet prizes! Plus, our Spellslingers will be revealing preview cards throughout the day.

Saturday, August 29, 8:30–11:30 p.m.

After the preview show, the Battle for Zendikar celebration kicks into high gear! The party is open to all attendees with a PAX badge, and it will feature a DJ, dancing, and food. Come mingle with the people who make Magic—members of Magic R&D and other Magic celebrities will be there, possibly showing off their dance moves!

Monday, August 31, 1:30–2:30 p.m.

Join us at the Hydra Theater and on Twitch as we chat with the Magic creative team about the world and the secrets of Battle for Zendikar! The panel will take place in the PAX Twitch panel room, and will also be streamed into the panel room in our space. Panelists include Jeremy Jarvis (Senior Creative Art Director), Mark Winters (Art Director), Kimberly Kreines (Creative Designer), Kelly Digges (Creative Designer), and the panel will be moderated by Brian Trunk (Brand Manager).

Thursday, Friday, and Sunday

Amidst all of the other incredible things going on, we also happen to be hosting the Magic World Championship that very same weekend. This tournament is the most prestigious event of the year, featuring 24 of the best players competing across three days and multiple formats for a $50,000 first-place prize and the title of Magic World Champion! We will be streaming live at viewing areas in the main level of the Annex, and online at our Twitch channel as well.

All weekend

We've packed PAX Prime full of awesome panels! Come check out live recordings of Magic podcasts Drive to Work and Limited Resources, learn how you can get a job at Wizards, get a crash course in deck building from World Championship deck builders, join a Q&A about Magic story, learn about how characters go from design to cosplay, and so much more. Panels are happening throughout the weekend at the Seagate Theater in the Annex on the lower level.

For a more detailed look at the panels, download the panel schedule.

Friday and Saturday

We will be offering portfolio reviews for prospective artists at PAX Prime. Available times will be Friday and Saturday, 3–5 p.m. If any guest is interested in meeting with Art Directors Mark Winters or Cynthia Sheppard, please come to the welcome desk in the Annex on Friday or Saturday. Meetings are limited!

If anyone would like to submit art or portfolios but cannot attend PAX, artists may still send art to

All weekend

With all of the excitement going on all the time, we can't forget the most important part—actually playing Magic! All play events will be in the lower level of the Annex and will be hosted by Cascade Games. If you're new to Magic, come learn with the Lady Planeswalkers Society and get a free deck! Newer players can also play in the Convention Social League for free with a free 30-card sample deck, plus they'll get the Magic Pinny Arcade Pin!

More experienced players can play in the Advanced Convention League, join in a throwback Rise of the Eldrazi draft, or hop into a Magic Origins draft. All of these events feature the legendary Prize Wall. Players can earn tickets through the various events and trade them in for sweet, sweet loot!

Are you excited for PAX? I'm excited for PAX. (I may or may not have a calendar with Xs marking off all the days leading up to this epic weekend.) Arm yourselves against the Eldrazi onslaught, join us on Twitch and in the convention halls, and prepare to Battle for Zendikar!
