A Brief History of Masticores

The noble masticore goes back to Urza's Destiny, when Paolo Parente provided this art for the Famous Original Masticore:

After a brief stop in the art for Deep Analysis, the Masticore got a revamp in From the Vault: Relics, when Steven Belledin gave us a leaner version.

The next masticore was Fifth Dawn's Razormane Masticore, from the plane of Mirrodin. Jim Murray provided a more sharp-edged example of the species.

And that brings us up to Scars of Mirrodin, and the ominous Molten-Tail Masticore. Whit Brachna illustrated this mythic monster!
