Mycosynth Golem -- in rules terms -- is an artifact creature that grants the "affinity for artifacts" ability to your other artifact creatures. In flavor terms, it's a six-armed, eight-eyed golem in charge of commanding armies of mechanical minions. Let's take a closer look at the art of Mycosynth Golem for more inside information.

Memnarch Mycosynth Golem's eyes are similar to Memnarch's (see right), which reflects the golem's commanding power. Five of its six arms hold brutal bladed weapons, representing its prowess in combat. Its other arm points forward, leading the way for its armies. The mechanical minions behind it in the art are threshers, artifact creatures covered in deadly blades (see, for example, Sawtooth Thresher). The entire scene takes place inside the plane of Mirrodin (compare to the art of Mirrodin's Core).

Tune in to Mark Gottlieb's column tomorrow for a deck taking advantage of this imposing artifact creature!
