MAGIC: THE GATHERING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP HEADED BACK TO U.S. FOR 2004

Magic Worlds to be held at San Francisco's historic Fort Mason Center, across the Bay from Alcatraz!

The 2004 Magic: The Gathering World Championship has been officially scheduled. The event will take place September 1-5, 2004, in San Francisco, at the Fort Mason Center's Festival Pavilion, with a bird's eye view to Alcatraz! Player registration will be held August 31. The event gets underway September 1, with an opening ceremony followed by the first round of tournament play. An array of public game-play events will take place concurrently with the Magic Worlds. All events are open to the public September 1-5.

This year's Magic World Championship, held in Berlin, drew participants from more than 50 countries, with an estimated 7,500 players turning out for side events. The 2004 Magic World Championship will mark the 10th year of the premier trading card game competition. Look for reigning champ Daniel Zink of Germany to defend his title at the San Francisco event, as well as other top-ranked Magic pros.
