All-In Eggs

A Tron deck with sideboard Blood Moon? Now I've seen everything.

While the spotlight at Pro Tour Born of the Gods was noticeably on decks like Zoo, Faeries, Jund, Twin, and Pod, there are always a few gems that might never get noticed. Case in point is this delightful take on Eggs that went 7–3 in the Modern portion of the Pro Tour.

Instead of setting up an infinite loop like previous Eggs decks, Taisuke Ishii decided to go all-in! Using Krark-Clan Ironworks, Ishii can sacrifice his entire board to cast Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and hope it's good enough. Judging by his record, it looks like it was. In the off chance that a turn-three Emrakul isn't good enough, Ishii can ramp up Tezzeret the Seeker to ultimate.

While this Eggs deck is reduced to using the combat step, it can still be quite explosive. With some tuning, I'm sure this deck could do even better than it did at the Pro Tour. Even if you're a weaker combo deck than some of the others in the format, there's a lot of value in being the combo deck that nobody is preparing for.
