Best of 2013: Bonfire of the Duke

Jund has been the scourge of Constructed formats for years. You either love it or hate it, and Reid Duke is definitely the former. With a win at the Magic Online Championship with the same deck, albeit in a different format, Reid is no stranger to the archetype.

For a while, Reid dabbled in other Thragtusk-based decks, but it was a return to his old favorite that gave him his second Grand Prix trophy. The resiliency of Thragtusk and Huntmaster of the Fells combined with excellent removal and finishers in the form of Olivia Voldaren and Bonfire of the Damned made Jund a very strong choice during last year's Standard.

When building Jund, many players wisely took Reid's advice and found similar success. Reid published articles on the subject week after week, carefully tuning his decklist in anticipation of next week's threats and was justly rewarded for his efforts. Reid's dedication and hard work should be an inspiration for everyone.
