Grand Prix Krakow was last weekend and the tournament was overrun by Dragon Control decks. While looking through the decks that didn't make Top 8, I stumbled across this innovative take on White-Blue Heroic. While Jan Ksandr failed to overtake the Dragons in Krakow, his Bant Heroic deck managed to earn him a very respectable ninth-place finish.

Bant Heroic isn't so much Bant as it is White-Blue Heroic with four Dromoka's Commands. Splashing for only four cards may not seem worth it, but Dromoka's Command is one of the best heroic enablers that we've seen in a while. Dromoka's Command is a modal spell, which means that you can choose what you want it to do. Unlike most modal spells, Dromoka's Command lets you make two choices instead of the usual one. In a Heroic deck, that's pretty huge. This spell is capable of having multiple targets and can potentially trigger your heroic creatures twice. Dromoka's Command can also be a removal spell if you choose the fight mode and can even take care of annoying enchantments like Jeskai Ascendancy and Outpost Siege.

One of the most interesting interactions I've seen with this deck is between Dromoka's Command and the Ordeals. Most of the time when you attack with your heroic creature with an Ordeal attached to it, you will sacrifice it when your creature has three +1/+1 counters. However, the Ordeals read "When you sacrifice this." Your Ordeals will trigger whenever you sacrifice them, no matter how that happens. If you are in a tricky spot where you absolutely need to gain 10 life or draw two cards, you have the option of casting Dromoka's Command on yourself, forcing you to sacrifice an enchantment and trigger your Ordeal.
