Jeskai Ascendancy combo has become a regular in my Daily Deck articles. Josh Utter-Leyton succeeded in bringing this combo deck to the next level.

The Jeskai Ascendancy deck contains mana creatures, the Ascendancy, and cheap draw spells to create a chain reaction. The deck's weakness is that it needs a sufficient number of mana creatures for the combo. These small creatures die easily to any remove spell and also require a turn for summoning sickness. The deck doesn't benefit from mana acceleration; however, it cannot combo without these creatures. This is a clear weakness of the deck.

The answer Josh and his teammates found was to add Faerie Conclave, a mana-producing land, and Fatestitcher, a creature.

Fatestitcher can start the combo off unearth, so there's no need to play it from your hand. Also it isn't affected by summoning sickness after unearth, so you can go off one turn earlier.

Play Jeskai Ascendancy and play a spell, discarding Fatestitcher, and unearth it. If I was to choose a MVP deck from the World Championship, this would be my choice.
