When I found out that Sigil of the Empty Throne was returning in Magic Origins and that enchantments were going to be a theme in white, I was pretty excited to build a deck around them. I was even more excited when I read Starfield of Nyx for the first time. Starfield and Sigil are a perfect fit together, and with Eidolon of Blossoms and an enchantment theme in Theros block, I knew there was something there.

In the year 2000, one of the most popular decks in Standard (we called it "Type 2" back then) was Replenish. Replenish was a combo deck that tried to fill up the graveyard quickly and then cast a game-ending Replenish. Attunement and Frantic Search did a pretty good job of getting enchantments in the graveyard, and Opalescence could turn them all into large attackers. There were even enchantments that could remove creatures and lands (Parallax Wave and Parallax Tide) to make sure your opponent couldn't stop you.

Starfield of Nyx reminds me a lot of the old Replenish deck, with Opalescence and Replenish built right into the card. Of course, Starfield doesn't let you return everything to the battlefield at once, but it does allow you to gain a small advantage over time. One huge difference between this deck today and fifteen years ago is today many of our enchantments are also creatures. Creatures die to removal and trade in combat, which means that there's a good chance that you'll have something to return to play with Starfield.

Another Origins card that is a great fit for this deck is Herald of the Pantheon. Of course, this card is no Argothian Enchantress, but the cost reduction that the Herald grants you can provide you with some explosive turns. The life gain isn't too bad either!
