Today's deck is a super-fun ramp deck that is looking to win using Part the Waterveil with awaken. Ali Aintrazi piloted this deck in a side event at Grand Prix Seattle-Tacoma and didn't drop a single match. He can tell you just how great the deck is in his article here. Green-Blue Part the Waterveil was actually designed by one of our strongest deck builders in R&D, Adam Prosak. Adam played this deck a lot in the Future Future League with great success, and he usually crushes opponents with it weekly at FNM.

Green-Blue Part the Waterveil is a planeswalker control deck that plays out like a ramp deck. You want to cast either a Rattleclaw Mystic or a Nissa's Pilgrimage in the early turns to accelerate your mana. Jace, Vryn's Prodigy and Dig Through Time help filter your draws and find you what you need. Kiora, Master of the Depths can turbo-charge your mana production by untapping your Rattleclaw Mystic and a land to accelerate you by two. If you don't need extra mana, she can untap your Jace to help transform him faster. She also fills up your graveyard to fuel your Dig Through Time!

Once you get to nine mana, your next play should be to cast Part the Waterveil with awaken. That may seem unimpressive on its own, but in this deck you are going through your library quickly, and it's very likely that you can chain your Part the Waterveils together and take multiple extra turns. If that plan fails, just cast an Ulamog or Ugin during your extra turn and you will usually come out ahead. Ulamog specifically is really hard for opponents to come back from. Even if your opponent has a Crackling Doom or an Utter End to deal with the creature, the two permanents that you exile will put you really far ahead.

This is a unique deck, and if you're interested in controlling combo decks then it's certainly worth a try.
