White's two mythic rares were both great additions from Fate Reforged. However, these two weren't the only cards white received. There were many white decks without these two cards that got a boost from the new set. White-Blue Heroic gained two new cards, Valorous Stance and Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest—a card that's half white.

This slot was formally occupied by Fabled Hero. You can tell White-Blue Heroic's concept of pumping and attacking with double strike synergizes perfectly. The problem was always how the double strike was applied. Fabled Hero is a powerful card. However, three mana is a lot for this deck and an easy target for removal. The second choice was Battle Mastery as a one-of searched out with Heliod's Pilgrim, but that's just not realistic.

Shu Yun is a great card because he doesn't have to be the target of the pump spell to get prowess and double strike. The fact he doesn't have to be the target is very relevant.

From the opponent's point of view, Shu Yun is as much of a threat as Fabled Hero, but less devastating to lose from your perspective. Additionally, 2U is much easier to play leaving up Gods Willing. These small upgrades are crucial to a heroic deck that relies on protecting its creatures no matter what.

The same story goes for Valorous Stance. Removal was a missing piece of the heroic deck. This card doubles as a removal spell and a protection spell, which the deck can never have enough of. The ability to choose or force your opponent to make a difficult decision is always a huge advantage.
