The Daily Magic Update is a roundup of everything Magic you should know for today, January 13, 2016. Today's Update is brought to you by Intro Packs and sneaky-good Reddit comments.

What People Are Talking About, Like, A Lot

If we're being honest, this is pretty much all people have been talking about in Magic's corner of the internet—the store proxy policy that has been inundating the Reddit forums for the past 36 or so hours.

Look for more on this soon on DailyMTG.

Today's Must See

  1. Oath of the Gatewatch—Set Visualization |

Well if this isn't ridiculously cool, I—I don't even have a way to finish that sentence. It's just ridiculously cool. Visualizing Magic created, well, a visualization of Oath of the Gatewatch. Check it out if you like cool things and Magic. Which is pretty much our demographic here.

After That, Read, Watch, or Listen to These

  1. Oath of the Gatewatch review: Magic has a new colour of mana. Kinda. | Ars Technica UK | Kyle Chapman

Well that headline isn't going to confuse players already unsure about colorless mana. Not at all. At any rate, it's still cool seeing a technology, science, and gaming outlet review Magic's latest set.

  1. E031 – Ethan Fleischer – Commanderin' MTG Podcast|

If you only listen to one podcast about Commander guest-starring Ethan Fleischer, lead designer of Oath of the Gatewatch, make it this podcast about Commander guest-starring Ethan Fleischer!

  1. Snack Time #23—Resolutions and 2016 | Gathering Magic | Mike Linnemann and Ant Tessitore

Resolutions and snacks are on the menu for Mike and Ant. If you haven't checked out Snack Time with Mike and Ant before, why not Zoid—why not now?

  1. Oath of the Gatewatch Flavor Review | StarCityGames | John Dale Beety

Beety's on top of this flavor thing, talking happy endings, dire consequences, and some kind of multiversal party Ugin might want to skip.

The Top 25

  1. Duke Ascends

It's not terribly shocking that No. 7-ranked Reid Duke is very good at Magic, just like it was fairly easy to guess that The Nicest Man on the Pro Tour would be the biggest gainer in the Top 25 after his win at Grand Prix Oakland. Martin Dang is the lone player to fall out of the Top 25.

Also climbing the right direction this week:

  • Brad Nelson, fresh off a ninth-place finish in Oakland
  • Craig Wescoe, who finished 37th
  • Paulo Vitor Damo Da Rosa, Eric Froehlich, Jacob Wilson, and Fabrizio Anteri

Community Spotlight

  1. Numot Gaming | Kenji Egashira

Kenji Egashira has recently started up his own website, Numot Gaming, with videos and articles from himself and AJ Sacher (check out Sacher's piece from last week on misevaluating cards like Jace, Vryn's Prodigy).

Wedge isn't Keeping Up with Demand

  1. Oath of the Gatewatch Spoilers: Best of the Rest – Part 4: Red! | The Mana Source | Wedge

Far from keeping up with my totally reasonable "every three minutes" pace, Wedge is still cranking out set reviews on a pace pretty much unheard of, so that definitely gets a nod this week. Check out his latest on red.

Decks of the Day

  1. Oath of the Gatewatch Intro Packs

Yes, decks. Oath of the Gatewatch is fully ready for your perusal in Gatherer, which means we can show off the list for the five Intro Packs you'll be able to get this weekend during Prereleases or when the full set releases January 22. Gaze in wonder and glory—and introduce a friend (or yourself) to an Intro Pack for an easy on-ramp into Constructed Magic.
