The Daily Magic Update is a roundup of everything Magic you should know for today, January 22, 2016, and today, we go to eleven.

Today's Update is brought to you by Ragnar's mighty beard and Tibalt, the best card in Modern.

Today's Must See

  1. #KenjiWayfinder | Hareruya | Kenji Tsumura

Yes, today's must see is at least partially in Japanese. But the words around the pictures (many of which are in English) aren't even the point. It's the pictures themselves. Every time a new set is released, a few Japanese players—in this case Kenji Tsumura—like to post a slew of brews for Standard. Kenji posted pictures of twelve decks, some more out there than others. Here Kenji has posted everything from Abzan Superfriends to Boros Equipment to Temur Prowess to, of course, several Eldrazi-based decks. If you're looking for ideas, this is the place to start.

Video Blowout!

  1. Kitchen Table Fables—"Basilisk Collar" (A Magic: the Gathering Tale) | The Command Zone

Jimmy Wong, Josh Lee Kwai, and The Professor are back with another installment of Kitchen Table Fables! Watch below to ruin Basilisk Collar's flavor for yourself forever.

  1. Alexander Hayne (11) & Jacob Wilson (10) 2 p.m. PST 5 p.m. EST | twitch.tv/jacobwilson | Alexander Hayne and Jacob Wilson

If you weren't able to watch Hayne and Wilson's highly entertaining stream yesterday, I certainly recommend going back and doing so for the love of Tibalt.

  1. Put a Bow On It—Modern Bannings, 100% Colorless Deck & More! | The Magic Show | Reuben Bresler, Evan Erwin, and Erin Campbell

Finally, another episode of Magic Mikes aired last night. Yes, every time I watch one of these, all I can do is imagine Reuben or Erin reaching to the side one day and actually touching Evan, as if they were in the same room, and then casually going on with the conversation.

Go ahead and use that one, guys. That one's free.

After Those, Read, Watch, or Listen to These

  1. 64 | ChannelFireball | Ben Rubin

This just missed the cut to make the Update yesterday, mostly because clicking on the link went nowhere. But, ultimately Rubin does the most important thing: he answers the question "Why 64?" Welcome to 2016, Ben.

  1. Oath of the Gatewatch Set Review | Constructed Resources | Marshall Sutcliffe and Eric Froehlich

Just in time for the release of Oath of the Gatewatch, Marshall and Efro sit down to discuss constructed implications for Oath of the Gatewatch. At least I assume they're sitting down. It's a podcast, I can't see them.

  1. Thunder Dome | The Girlfriend Bracket

Erin Campbell, Hallie Santo, Katie Neal, and Kriz Schultz push through the plague to discuss Oath Prereleases, bans, and a VICE article about women on the grind in Magic.

Hot, Hot Commander Action

  1. Ruhan of the Fomori Voltron EDH/Commander Deck Tech for Magic: The Gathering—MTG! |The Mana Source | Wedge

And for something to whet your Commander appetite, Wedge takes a break from Oath of the Gatewatch to visit with Ruhan of the Fomori. All Ruhan asks when you visit is that you take your shoes off. He's oddly picky about that.

  1. Commander Clash 4: Tribal—Spirits, Morphs, Zombies, Demons | MTGGoldfish |Tomer Abramovici

The giggling over Ragnar at the beginning is adorable. He does have a great beard. At any rate, the crew—Tomer, Seth, Richard, and Jake—battle their tribal Commander decks against one another in what Tomer calls "my favorite [video] in the series so far."

What to Watch This Weekend

  1. StarCityGames.com Atlanta Open Weekend

Tune in to twitch.tv/scglive starting Saturday at 10:30 a.m. EST (7:30 a.m. PST) for coverage of the SCG Open series, including the first Standard action of the new format!

Deck of the Day

  1. Ragnar Morph Commander

Want to see what the Commander Clash crew was giggling about? Ragnar doesn't. Ragnar doesn't see what's so funny. Ragnar is off to condition his hair. That stuff takes upkeep.
