Blake is the content manager for, making him the one you should email if you have thoughts on the website, good or less good (or not good). He's a longtime coverage reporter and hasn't turned down a game of Magic in any format ever.

The Daily Magic Update is a roundup of everything Magic you should know on June 23, 2016. Today's Update is brought to you by going out in the woods and letting someone else do your work for a bit.

Today's Must

  1. Level-Up: Tournament Preparation | Limited Resources | Marshall Sutcliffe and Luis Scott-Vargas

If you want to get better, check out these Level-Up segments from Limited Resources. If you don't want to get better, well, that's fine too. You can still listen to this. They're good people.

After That, Read, Watch, or Listen to These

  1. Top 10 Best Cards We Need Printed in Eldritch Moon for Magic: The Gathering! | The Mana Source | Wedge

Well, it's a good thing we're getting—hold on. Wait a moment. You almost had me there. Nice try, Wedge. I'll never give away the contents of Eldritch Moon! Well, at least not until next week.

  1. Let's Ban Blood Moon! | The Masters of Modern | Alex Kessler and Ben Bateman

My Cruel Ultimatum deck and I concur. Special guest Scott Campbell joins the crew to debate a question that pops up now and then—would Modern just be better without Blood Moon?

  1. Against the Odds: Shared Fate | MTGGoldfish | SaffronOlive

Can SaffronOlive make Shared Fate...playable?

You know how this goes by now. And if you don't, then you should definitely check out the Against the Odds series. Most of them don't pan out into great ideas, but it sure is entertaining when they work.

  1. The more things change...

...the more they stay the same. Like, exactly the same.

What People Are Talking About

  1. State of Organized Play

Today, Helene Bergeot discussed a number of issues with Organized Play. Our goal with this (and others like it) is to be more transparent with the community about some of the behind the scenes things. Look for more articles like this in the future.

  1. Fright Night

Someone made a cool poster-style image and put it online. Thus, now you too can bask in all its awesomeness. Or you can check out the Reddit thread along with it and enjoy it with many others on the internet.

Community Spotlight

  1. Eventide Flashback Draft Primer

This is your quarterly reminder that the community in the Limited Resources Reddit are fairly nice people and do things like create Draft primers for formats out of the goodness of their own hearts. This one is for the latest batch in the Year of Modern Flashbacks, Shadowmoor-Shadowmoor-Eventide.

Deck of the Day

  1. Modern Red-White Land Destruction

One person who doesn't want to ban Blood Moon? Theagent002 on Magic Online. Or maybe they do, after going 5-0 in a Competitive Modern League with a deck built around making sure the opponent doesn't have lands. The deck packs the full boat of Boom // Bust, plus lands to work with it (fetch lands, Flagstones of Trokair, and even a Darksteel Citadel), as well as Blood Moon and Molten Rain.

If this catches on, no lands are safe.
