The Daily Magic Update is a roundup of everything Magic you should know on June 29, 2016. Today's Update is brought to you by Oglor.

Today's Previews

Throughout preview season, I'll use this space to highlight the day's previews that can't be found on DailyMTG. Worried you might miss something? We'll make sure to have it here.

Today, check out the links below, but also keep an eye on Reddit and Sam Stoddard's Twitter account

We have an early frontrunner for the set's unofficial mascot.

  1. Wizards Play Network reveal

All last week players voted on which art they wanted the card revealed for, and today the card will be revealed! Check your local store's Facebook page for the Magic: The Gathering app or click the link above for Face to Face Games's version of the app to see what the fans voted to see.

Don't read Russian? In English, this card is called Stitcher's Graft. It's cheap to play and equip, as you can see, and then it gives a creature +3/+3. When the creature attacks, it doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step. Because it's part Zombie now. And when it becomes unattached from a permanent, you have to sacrifice that permanent. Because the Graft is part of them now.

Maybe your part-Zombies should stay on defense?

  1. VIRUS Magazine

Didn't expect that one, did you? VIRUS Magazine is a European magazine dedicated to Zombies, so it's natural that they would show an interest in Innistrad and all things Zombie, of which they previewed two.

  1. ChannelFireball

Look for an official preview on ChannelFireball today that will knock your socks off. Socks knocked off guaranteed, or your money back. Which is zero. The perils of free content.

By the time you read this it might already be up. If not, you can always incessantly tweet at them @channelfireball #wheresmypreviewcard (sorry, Andy).

  1. Brewin' Brisela Plus EMN Preview Card! | The Command Zone | Jimmy Wong and Josh Lee Kwai

The Command Zone has a super-flavorful card for you all today. You should probably click the link above and go check it out.

After Those, Read, Watch, or Listen to These

  1. Angels, Meld, and the Power of Haste | | Michael Majors

Michael Majors starts looking ahead to the power of Angels in Standard—even if some of those Angels turn into hope-devouring Eldrazi. Or maybe because of it.

  1. Eldritch Moon First Thoughts with Matt Sperling | Masters of Modern | Ben Bateman and Alex Kessler

Matt Sperling is a man of many opinions, and he's happy to share them with the Masters of Modern. There's also Game of Thrones talk, for good measure. So, you know, spoiler alert.

Top 25

  1. Small Shifts

Not a ton of action this week in the Top 25. Brad Nelson falls three spots, Yuuya Watanabe jumps up two slots, and Lee Shi Tian joins the Top 25 after a Top 8 performance at Grand Prix Taipei, displacing Kazuyuki Takimura.

But the rest of the Top 25 stayed pretty much pat as the season comes to its final stretch. Only a few more weekends of Grand Prix remain before the big show in Sydney, where all kinds of year-end awards will be decided.

But until then, enjoy this chart.

Deck of the Day

  1. Modern Dredge

Do we finally have enough (unbanned) goodies in Modern to make Dredge a thing again? Magic Online player Aiteth thinks so, having gone 5-0 in a Competitive Modern League with a Jund-flavored version of the deck (that happens to have a few incidentally blue cards in it).

Thanks to two new additions from Shadows over InnistradInsolent Neonate and Prized Amalgam—Aiteth might just be on to something. Neonate can help get the dredge chain started by first discarding a dredger and then immediately drawing it back. Faithless Looting, Burning Inquiry, and Tormenting Voice give the deck more chances to dredge things back, and Narcomeba, Bloodghast, and Prized Amalgam are all ready to jump out of the graveyard for free.

The real twist is Conflagrate, a new way to discard all of your dredgers at once that also happens to lessen your opponent's life total, getting you that much closer to hasty Bloodghasts and, you know, winning the game.
