The Daily Magic Update is a roundup of everything Magic you should know on October 25, 2016. Today's Update is brought to you by previews, previews, previews!

Today's Commander (2016 Edition) Previews

Each day I'll collect the day's previews (both already previewed and yet to come) and list and link them here for ease of finding them all. Enjoy!

Modular world!

I'll take eight of these, please (which is the approximate number of blue-based Commander decks I have).

Do it. All the time. That's the answer.

  1. Crystalline Crawler | (Japanese)

The preview is in Japanese, but the article itself (click the hyperlink in the middle of the page with the exclamation mark) has an English translation as well.

New art, old favorite. This might have to sneak in a few decks.

Oh hey! That's me!

I don't know about best. I mean, this one isn't even a 1/2.

  1. Cruel Entertainment + 2 more Commander 2016 Preview Cards | The Command Zone | Jimmy Wong and Josh Lee Kwai

One new card and two reprints, but boy are they lovely.

  1. Additional Previews coming later

Look for a preview on Twitter from @benbhayes and a video The Mana Source, and maybe a few other treats down the road today.

After Those, Read, Watch, or Listen to These

  1. Rhystic Study: Gisa and Geralf | MTG Mint Card | Prophet of Kruphix

While we're talking Commander, Prophet of Kruphix (Not their real name. I think.) shows us how to build a Gisa and Geralf Commander deck. It's a perfectly powerful commander with a ton of flavor.

  1. Improbable Moves | ChannelFireball | Brian DeMars

DeMars talks about some tricky, interesting plays that have led to victory. It's a good example of how to level up your game. Or just a fun read about cool plays. Either way works.

What People Are Talking About

It really is. See all of the gorgeous basic lands from Commander (2016 Edition) in this article.

Simonot's Twisted Color Pie Cube won the You Make the Cube contest! This means that, come November, you'll be able to play Simonot's Cube on Magic Online.

Deck of the Day

  1. Grand Prix Kuala Lumpur Champion: Mardu Vehicles

White-Blue Flash might have dominated Grand Prix Kuala Lumpur, but it was Mardu Vehicles in the hands of Fumiya Matsumoto that won the whole thing. And why not? The deck is brutally aggressive, and its three-color mana base both runs smoothly and gives the deck a ton of options. Cultivator's Caravan is a workhorse, both giving a beefy Vehicle to run people over and enabling the deck's splashes and higher-curve cards. And while the deck is called "Mardu Vehicles," you'll note the touch of blue mana—from Aether Hub, Spirebluff Canal, and Cultivator's Caravan—to go with the Ceremonious Rejections in the sideboard.
