The Daily Magic Update is a roundup of everything Magic you should know on November 9, 2016. Today's Update is brought to you by so very many Commander (2016 Edition) videos and articles.

Today's Must

  1. Commander VS: Commander 2016 Fun! | | Justin Parnell and Stephen Green

The Commander VS. crew takes the actual Commander (2016 Edition) decks out for a spin against one another! Check out how the decks play against each other before you can buy them!

After That, Read, Watch, or Listen to These

  1. Wedge Does C16 Deck Techs | The Mana Source | Wedge

Coming up, Wedge will be deck-teching the crap out of the Commander (2016 Edition) decks, the first of which is the "Invent Superiority" deck featuring Breya, Etherium Shaper. Watch for more to come, then look for Commander to release on Friday. What a great idea! More people should do something like that...

  1. Atraxa, Praetors' Voice—"Breed Lethality" C16 Deck Tech | The Command Zone | Jimmy Wong and Josh Lee Kwai

Oh! Look at that! More people doing something like that! Atraxa is the commander that gets my Commander senses tingling, so I'll be devouring this one for new ideas.

If you want more of this type of thing, Commanders Brew also is on the upgrade train, and is talking Yidris today.

  1. How to Build a Four-Color EDH / Commander Mana Base for Magic: The Gathering | Tolarian Community College | The Professor

Let's stick with Commander, shall we? Josh Lee Kwai and Jimmy Wong guest-star and also do all the work for The Professor.

  1. Fringe Decks | ChannelFireball | Josh Silvestri

Silvestri thinks Blue-Red Colossus and Black-Red Zombies have what it takes to unseat White-Blue Flash and Black-Green Delirium.

  1. Constructed Criticism 160: Managing Your Resources (What Is This Game About) | Constructed Criticism | Spencer Howland, Casey Bloodworth, and Michael Hinderaker

With the advent of energy, there's been a lot of talk lately about resource management in Magic. Here, Spencer, Casey, and Michael head straight for the gut on that topic and talk about how to manage resources in a game of Magic.

  1. Reusing Enter-the-Battlefield Effects in Kaladesh Limited | MTGGoldfish | Sameer Merchant

Merchant goes deep on the "enters the battlefield" archetype in Kaladesh, and shows you how to get the most out of those abilities. And, yes, Panharmonicon does get mentioned.

What to Watch Tonight

  1. Magic Mics | Evan Erwin, Erin Campbell, and Rueben Bresler

11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT. Panel of three talks all things Magic. Be there or, um, be elsewhere. But there is a good place to be.

What People Are Talking About

Ha...yeah right.

Deck of the Day

  1. White-Black Aggro-ish

It's listed as White-Black Tokens, but, beyond Gideon, Ally of Zendikar, there's not much tokens-y about it. Instead, it's a low-curve, aggressive-ish white-black deck that uses removal to clear the way for some efficient creatures—and was good enough to snag fourth place at the Massachusetts State Championship last weekend, piloted by one Kenneth Olsen.

The deck utilizes a number of Kaladesh standouts, including Scrapheap Scrounger and Kambal, Consul of Allocation, alongside, um, Aerial Responder, who might be better than we all realize. From there, the deck is a collection of powerful white and black creatures backed up by the format's best removal. Simple, effective, and potentially very strong.
