The Daily Magic Update is a roundup of everything Magic you should know on March 29, 2017. Today's Update is brought to you by a serious moment about April 1.

This year, April 1 is a Saturday. We don't publish new content on Saturdays (typically) that isn't event coverage and, as such, we are not doing anything for April Fools' Day. I'm telling you this now, as far away from April 1 as possible, so that there's at least the slightest chance you'll believe me. This isn't me throwing you off the scent, this isn't part of a long con, and it isn't misdirection. As a company, we are not doing anything for April Fools'.

Seriously. It's a Saturday. We'll all be home enjoying the holiday with our families, eating Spam like tradition dictates.

What People Are Talking About

The Amonkhet Invocations have been pretty much all people have been talking about for the last 18 or so hours, but this video shows off just what they look like in real life.

My reaction? "Oooh. Shiny!"

Other reactions? Well .  .  .

  1. Share with me your thoughts on the new Masterpieces in Amonkhet | Blogatog | Mark Rosewater

Views on the new Invocations were wild and varied, ranging from those who dislike them strongly to those who very much enjoy them. As Rosewater does when something is polarizing, Rosewater is seeking feedback on the cards. You can share feedback with him on Blogatog or on Twitter, and it'll get to the right people.

But, hey, at least we can all agree that Titus's work on Wrath of God is stunning.

  1. WizardsMagicEU Instagram Account

We've launched a new Instagram account in Europe that has precisely one post at this point. Why should you care now? Because it's being released just in time for Amonkhet preview season, which means it'll have its own preview card, Amonkhet art, and photos from around Europe.

Standard Series Swag

  1. Reward Playmats

Now that we've revealed the Amonkhet Masterpieces, we can also highlight the Standard Series Playmat stores will be able to give out as part of the, well, Standard Series. The art is from the Dark Ritual Masterpiece, if you couldn't pick it out.

What to Watch Tonight

  1. Magic Mics | 8 p.m. PT/11 p.m. ET | twitch.tv/magicmics | Reuben Bresler, Evan Erwin, and Erin Campbell

Haven't had enough of people sharing their opinion on Amonkhet Invocations? Bresler, Erwin, and Campbell will surely cover that whole conversation that took over Magic internet chatter yesterday.

After Those, Read, Watch, or Listen to These

  1. All the Modern Lists Texas Can Hold | StarCityGames.com | Todd Stevens

With Grand Prix San Antonio happening this weekend (Team Unified Modern), Modern decklists are at a premium—and this article has a bunch of them. So does this one from Frank Karsten on ChannelFireball that talks about deck configurations. If you're planning on paying attention to or even playing in Grand Prix San Antonio this weekend, these are good information dumps to run through.

  1. The Almond Cat's Pajamas | Magic the Amateuring | Maria Bartholdi and Meghan Wolff

How timely—the MtA crew recorded just in time to talk about the new Amonkhet Invocations, plus there's a lot of general Amonkhet talk to go with Flavor Text Theater Mad Libs, which is a thing they do.

Community Spotlight

  1. Growing Concerns | TriHards | Brian Tibbets and Matt Hurley

Billed as "Full-time adults. Part-time Magic players," the TriHards is an adult-focused podcast marked by possibly the best radio voices this side of Marshall Sutcliffe. This episode is their 45th podcast, and they have got their banter down. Give 'em a listen, especially if you can relate to the "adult responsibilities, adult lack of time" vibe that runs through what they do.

A Bunch of Commander Content

  1. Get your Commander On

There was a bunch of strong Commander content today, so I figured we'd just bundle up some of it so you Commander aficionados can have a little trip through the interwebs on your favorite format today.

So, today we've got:

You're welcome, Commander folk (which includes me and my twelve decks. Someday I'll write an article about all of them).

Deck of the Day

  1. Stephen Menendian's Doomsday

Today I wanted to show off a deck with Dark Ritual—which was revealed as an Amonkhet Invocation yesterday on, fittingly, Vintage Super League—and it just so happened that there was exactly one deck with exactly one copy of Dark Ritual in Vintage Super League—Doomsday by Stephen Menendian. The deck also happens to have Force of Will—also an Amonkhet Invocation.

If you haven't seen this deck in action on Vintage Super League, it's very complicated. Even if you have, you might not get what's going on. The basic gist is to resolve Doomsday and set up a five-card library such that you win, usually, that very turn, typically by decking yourself with Laboratory Maniac and some combination of Gush, Gitaxian Probe, or Sensei's Divining Top, depending on the situation.

It's all very complex and weird (aka, Vintage), but it's a wild ride that can utilize Dark Ritual as part of its weird chain of events.
