Blake is the content manager for DailyMTG.com, making him the one you should email if you have thoughts on the website, good or less good (or not good). He's a longtime coverage reporter and hasn't turned down a game of Magic in any format ever.

The Daily Magic Update is a roundup of everything Magic you should know on June 13, 2017. Today's Update is brought to you by Aetherworks Marvel, we hardly—well, actually, we knew you well enough.

What People Are Talking About

This seems to be the prevailing sentiment. No one is particularly sad to see Marvel go.

This is something I want to make sure doesn't get lost either, since I always get questions about when the next B&R is. The next one will not be till after Pro Tour Hour of Devastation, and not till August 28.

Today's Must

  1. How to Have Fun at a Grand Prix | Channel Fireball

Channel Fireball posted dos and don'ts for attending a Grand Prix—you know, just in case we have one coming up in Las Vegas this week that people might think is awesome and want to attend.

If you are attending, DO read this article. DON'T not read this article.

After Those, Read, Watch, or Listen to These

  1. HUGE MTG News: CORE SETS RETURN, No More Small Sets, Block Structure Destroyed, and more! | The Mana Source | Wedge

In which Wedge covers all of Monday's news. Do you think, by the end of the week, we can make his head explode with news?

Probably not, because that's physically not how the human body works, but if there were any week to do it . . .

You can watch Wedge's video below, but he wasn't the only YouTuber with a quick take. For example, Dev from Strictly Better MTG had these things to say and Split Second spread the news, among others.

  1. Podcast 125: Set Release Changes, MMORPG | MTGGoldfish | SaffronOlive and ChazV

See, this is why you do podcasts on Mondays. We drop a lot of important news on Mondays, and you could be the first with a hot take on whatever we announce.

  1. Never Metamorphosis I Didn't Like | Hipsters of the Coast | Zach Barash

Barash provides a piece-by-piece look at the pros and cons of everything announced in yesterday's "Metamorphosis 2.0" article. Let's do the same for his article!

Pro: It's a strong read with a number of solid points.

Con: Portal Winds of Change

Pro: "No more small sets."

Con: "9 min to read." 9 minutes?! Reading?! Ugh, fine.

  1. Disaster | TCGPlayer | Raphaël Lévy

It can't all be announcement content, thank goodness.

If you follow Lévy on Twitter (that would be @hahamoud) then you might have seen that his collection of memorabilia (read: old decks) from Pro Tours past was hit with a ton of mold that wrecked many of the cards—but not his memories. Here, Lévy takes a trip back through some of his fondest memories associated with those destroyed decks over more than 20 years of playing Magic.

What to Watch Tonight

  1. Team Draft Super League | twitch.tv/magic | 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET/midnight UTC

Do my job for me, helpful tweet!

Deck of the Day

  1. Temur Engery

It's your time to shine, Temur Energy! The shell that was formerly used to house Saheeli Rai/Felidar Guardian first and then Aetherworks Marvel/Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger has had both combos removed from it and—it's still pretty darn good. This is a 5-0 list we used as an example in today's B&R announcement. And the deck continues to put up results. Watch for many Marvel players to transition to something like this in the coming weeks (though there are no major Standard event prior to Pro Tour Hour of Devastation).
