The Daily Magic Update is a roundup of everything Magic you should know on June 14, 2017. Today's Update is brought to you by Dominaria! It's been too long, Shiv; we'll see you next year, Llanowar.

What People Are Talking About

Everyone's finding their own thing to be excited about from today's announcement, but the lead currently goes to one of returning to Dominaria, Pirates vs. Dinosaurs, or (finally) the release of a third Un- set, Unstable.

For The Professor, it's Merfolk. Because obviously. Check out what everyone else is excited for on what is rapidly becoming a massive Reddit thread.

LoadingReadyRun and Jimmy Wong teamed up to help us make these Learn to Play Magic videos to, um, help people learn to play Magic. You can see them on our New to Magic page or right, about, here:

Today's Community Spotlight Must

  1. Multiverse in Review | Berend Boer

With the news that we're traveling back to Dominaria, might it be time to review the Multiverse? I'm told Boer is basically the Vorthoses' Vorthos, so dive deep, especially since Boer very recently posted his walk through the Invasion story—maybe the defining story of Dominaria, after the Brothers' War.

  1. HUGE News! Aetherworks Marvel BANNED IN STANDARD! | Strictly Better MTG | Dev

This week's pattern is big news one day in the What People Are Talking About section, then reactions for those the next day. So tomorrow expect a bunch of reactions to all the products we announced today.

But for today, that means B&R reactions. Below you can get Dev's take on the Marvel ban as well as the article announcing said ban. Both The Mana Source and Split Second had their own takes on the news as well.

  1. Every Draft Format Will Be a Single-Set Environment. That's Great News. | Channel Fireball | Neal Oliver

A lot of pros welcomed the idea of only single-set Draft environments. Neal Oliver puts many of those thoughts on a page for you to read. How considerate!

  1. This Week in Legacy: May Statistics, More GP Vegas Prep, and an Interview with the Australian Legacy Champ | MTGGoldfish | Sean Brown

I love when the Legacy field gears up for a Grand Prix, because Eternal-format writers (Vintage and Legacy) are big lovers of statistics and statistically representing snapshots of the metagame in ways that Standard and Modern writers just don't match. It's balm for my statistics-loving heart. Get prepped for Grand Prix Las Vegas (well, the Legacy side) with this super helpful article.

  1. The Professor of Tolarian Community College | Kitchen Table Magic | Sam Tang

I missed this one yesterday somehow (oh, right, we had a few things going on . . .), but given The Professor's popularity (and the fact that I'm going to see him in Vegas), I didn't think anyone would mind. As usual, Tang leads an insightful interview with one of Magic's best-known personalities.

  1. A Marvel-less World | Magic the Amateuring | Maria Bartholdi and Meghan Wolff

Monday and Tuesday's news combined into one piece? How's that for efficiency?

  1. Moon Stompy | Channel Fireball | Andrea Mengucci

I'll admit, the name is like 90% of what attracted me to this article, but also since we're giving Legacy some love this week, it just so happens to be a sweet Legacy deck as well. Bonus!

Deck of the Day

  1. Reiderrabbit's Legacy Elves

Fans will recognize the Reiderrabbit moniker, but it's the deck that's most striking. In the world where Miracles was the top deck, Elves struggled in a field of one-mana Terminus and Counterbalance/Top that could lock out virtually the entire deck. But with Sensei's Divining Top gone, the Elves are free to roam Legacy again.

Could this be one of the big decks that comes out of Las Vegas? Tune in to starting tomorrow to find out!
