Eighth Edition Rollout

Torment – Mind Sludge

It is fitting that Torment's lone contribution is a black card.

Torment Information:

Released: February 2002
Design Team: Bill Rose (lead), Mike Elliott, with Odyssey design concepts by Richard Garfield and Mark Rosewater
Development Team: Henry Stern (lead), Randy Buehler, Mike Donais, Bill “Quill” McQuillan, Brian Schneider with contributions from Brady Dommermuth and Paul Barclay
Art Director: Dana Knutson
  New Mechanics: nightmares, madness
Factoid: Torment was the first expansion set ever to be heavily imbalanced toward a single color. Black was over-represented at the expense of white and green.

Cards in Eighth Edition that originated in Torment:

Mind Sludge

Bold indicates a card that has never appeared in a Core Set before.
