限定構築の PT 東京で日本人初となる準優勝となった藤田"ローリー"剛史、全く同じデッキを使う藤田修、森田雅彦共に好調でここまで一敗だ。
赤白対決は切り札をめぐる綱引きの様な物で、一方が引っ張りすぎればそれをリセットして引っ張り返し、まっさらになった所でまた引っ張りあう事を繰り返すゲームとなる。
そんなゲームを繰り返しながらここまで来た小室修も侮れない相手、ひとつのミスが致命傷となってしまう、そんな対決だ。
Game 1
序盤動いたのは先攻藤田、《銀騎士/Silver Knight》 2 体を並べて何も出ない小室に対して攻撃を開始する。小室も《霊体の地滑り/Astral Slide》を使って凌ぐが、全体除去となる《星の嵐/Starstorm》が効かない《銀騎士》に対して手を焼いている様子だ。
《邪神の寺院/Temple of the False God》によってマナが追いつき《賛美されし天使/Exalted Angel》をそのままキャストするも、《銀騎士》 + 《星の嵐》で一度もライフを回復出来ないまま死んでしまい、小室のライフは 8 。更に《稲妻の裂け目/Lightning Rift》も登場して小室が「はーっ」と長いため息を吐く。
次のターン《星の嵐》の x = 0 + 《翼の破片/Wing Shards》でなんとか 2 体の《銀騎士》を殺すことに成功した小室、《永遠のドラゴン/Eternal Dragon》を出してからの《滅殺の命令/Decree of Annihilation》サイクリングで一気に大逆転の体制となる。
しかしネックはサイクリングと同時に 4 となってしまった自分のライフだろうか？
毎ターン 5 点のダメージクロックでしっかりと勝利を物にしたい小室、慎重に《永遠のドラゴン》をレッドゾーンへと送り込み、藤田最後のあがきである《銀騎士》のアタックも《翼の破片》で跳ね返して 1 戦目勝利。
藤田 0 - 1 小室
Game 2
ゲームは淡々と進み、小室の《稲妻の裂け目》と《賛美されし天使》を藤田が《アクローマの復讐/Akroma's Vengeance》によってリセットした所から勝負が動き始める。
藤田の減ったライフも逆に《賛美されし天使》で逆転し、今度は若干藤田リードとなれば小室が《永遠のドラゴン》を出してにらみ合いに持ち込む。
《霊体の地滑り》が有る為に藤田がかなり有利な場となっているところで、対赤白用生物とも言える《窯口のドラゴン/Kilnmouth Dragon》が藤田の場に登場。クロックをかけられてしまった小室は動かざるをえなくなった。。
2 種類の命令を持っている小室はなんとか打開策を引こうと《正義の命令/Decree of Justice》を空サイクリングしてなんとか《アクローマの復讐》を引いてきて、これをキャスト。しかし、なんと藤田の手札 4 枚中 3 枚がサイクリングだった為に《霊体の地滑り》によって 3 体のクリーチャーが生き残り、それらの攻撃によって藤田が勝利を収めることとなった。
藤田 1 - 1 小室
Game 3
Game 3 は小室が増幅 3 の《窯口のドラゴン》を場に出し、藤田も同じドラゴンを場に出して相打ちした所から綱引きがスタート、その後はお互いに《翼の破片》を警戒してか並べるだけのにらみ合いが続く。
この時点で勝負の焦点は既に、いかにして相手のクリーチャーを上回った状態で《滅殺の命令》をサイクリング出来るかになっており、それだけに《奉納/Oblation》が鍵となる。
というわけで、ハッタリの意味もふくめてお互い確実に 3 マナを残しながらプレイを続けることとなる。そして、両者共に手札が大量に有る小室のターンに勝負の分かれ目となる出来事が起こる。
藤田の場には 3 マナと《永遠のドラゴン》、《霊体の地滑り》。小室は《怒りの天使アクローマ/Akroma, Angel of Wrath》だけで《霊体の地滑り》を小室が置いて 7 マナ残した状態でターンを返した。
そこでなぜか藤田が《黒焦げ牙のクーガー/Chartooth Cougar》をサイクリングして残り 1 マナとなってしまい、すかさず小室が《滅殺の命令》をサイクリング！
この行動に驚きの表情を浮かべる藤田、後で聞いてみたところ 6 マナと勘違いしてのプレイだったそうだ。この行動が致命傷となり藤田大ピンチへ。
2 度殴られ、自分の《永遠のドラゴン》も失ってしまいライフは 5 ...なんとか 3 マナに到達して《怒りの天使アクローマ》は《奉納》によって、ライブラリーに沈めたが土地が無い。
更に自分の《霊体の地滑り》に《奉納》を撃ってなんとかランドを確保したい藤田なのだが中々引けず、ドラゴンを回収出来る 5 マナへ先に辿り着いたのは小室。土地が供給されて、ラストはもう一度降臨した怒りの天使が藤田のライフを 0 に...ひとつの勘違いがゲームを大きく狂わせ、藤田手痛い 2 敗目。
