予選ラウンドも残すところあと 3 つ。 3 連勝を収めればベスト 8 と言ったラインで対決するのはが《精神の願望/Mind's Desire》デッキを使用する森と、エンチャントレスデッキを操る田中。
一時期、マジックを引退していた森だが、ここの所のイベントは殆ど参加すると言う精力的な姿が見受けられる。
復帰してまもなくは覇気があるあの戦い振りが見られなかったが、このところの森は往年の勢いを取り戻し、早くて的確なあの森勝洋のスタイルに戻りつつある。
そんな彼等の戦いをお送りしよう。
Game 1
互いにマリガンをし、キープした手札でゲームが開始。
森が 2 ターン目に《サファイアの大メダル/Sapphire Medallion》、そこから《嘘か真か/Fact or Fiction》を連打し、マナを伸ばしたいが、肝心の土地がめくれてくれない。
その間、田中は緑マナを引ければなんとかなると、願いを込めてドローすると、ばっちり《森/Forest》をドロー。
そこから《繁茂/Wild Growth》と《肥沃な大地/Fertile Ground》を貼り付け、次ターンには《アルゴスの女魔術師/Argothian Enchantress》から《女魔術師の存在/Enchantress's Presence》。
エンチャントレスサイクルが動き出したが、序盤の事故が響き、微妙に青マナが足りず、ターンを森に渡してしまう事になる。
《サファイアの大メダル》を既に置いてある事もあり、《精神の願望/Mind's Desire》のカードがツイていればどうにかなるかも知れないところ。しかし、めくれたのは土地が 3 枚……
先程は回り損ねたとは言え、既に十分なカードを取り揃えていた田中は、そのまま返すターンに《気流の言葉/Words of Wind》をセットすると、森は投了。
森 0 - 1 田中
Game 2
先手森。
今回はダブルマリガンを選択させられた田中を尻目に、自身はセットランドから《金属モックス/Chrome Mox》、そして《陽景学院の使い魔/Sunscape Familiar》と、十分な 1 ターン目。
2 ターン目には《陽景学院の使い魔》と《サファイアの大メダル》を並べ、 1 マナで《嘘か真か》をプレイする完全にペースを物にしている。
対する田中は、たった 1 枚の《森》を大切に《繁茂》から《肥沃な大地》と育てて行くが、いかんせん続く土地を全く引かず、《アルゴスの女魔術師》を出してみても、大きく展開が出来ない。
さて、余裕をもって展開する森は、十分にメダリオン効果シリーズを場に並べ、《フェアリーの大群》を《断絶/Snap》しつつ、魔法のキャスト回数を貯めてゆき、《精神の願望》を撃ったところで、田中投了。
森 1 - 1 田中
Game 3
先手田中。
今度は互いに不満のない初手を維持し、田中は《アルゴスの女魔術師》を、森は《サファイアの大メダル》を設置。
手札が少々芳しくない田中は、ここで《生ける願い/Living Wish》を撃つが、これは森の《禁制/Prohibit》が吼える。
さて、田中の動きを妨害し、こちらが責める番と、とにかくドロー強化系を連打する森。
そこへ、田中待望の《島》を引き当て、森の土地を《パララクスの潮流/Parallax Tide》によって、 4 枚確保。
そして、消散カウンターが全て消え、森の土地が戻ろうとしているところで、この土地が戻る能力に対して、田中は《もみ消し/Stifle》をプレイし、森の土地 4 枚を時限の彼方へ葬り去った。
森の展開を大幅に遅らせ、弱った手札をじっくり暖める事にした田中。
更にもう 1 枚《パララクスの潮流》を貼り、エンチャントレスシリーズのドローを心待ちにしているところで、《アルゴスの女魔術師》を引き当てる。
そこから 1 枚エンチャントを張ってドローすると、次のドローにも《アルゴスの女魔術師》。
「ノってきた」と、ここからどんどんエンチャントを張ってドローを増やし、《セラの聖域/Serra's Sanctum》、《生ける願い》から《フェアリーの大群/Cloud of Faeries》と繋げ、マナを大量確保したところで《気流の言葉》。
森は投了を宣言した。
