昨日の 5-1 というスコアで 3 番ポッドでロチェスターに挑むこととなった森田。
同じく 5-1 ラインである岡本尋の 2 番卓には Jon Finkel Kai Budde がいたように、森田は David Humpherys と Trey Van Cleave に挟まれてのドラフティングとなったものだった。
具体的には森田が Player #1 で、すぐ下家に Trey Van Cleave(Player #2)、一つ挟んだ Player #4 が Alan Comer 、森田から見て上家にあたる Player #8 に Your Move Games の David Humpherys という位置取りである。
Invasion
結論から先に言ってしまうと、Dragon クラスのクレイジーレアはほとんど出現せず、せいぜい Sabertooth Nishoba が印象的であった程度の Invasion。コモンからも Agonizing Demise 、Armadillo Cloak 、Exclude といったカードが一枚も現れなかったものである。
Player #1 である森田が最初に開封したパック。
Angel of Mercy 、Distorting Wake 、Shivan Zombie 、Shoreline Raider 、Quirion Elves 、Kavu Scout 、Prohibit 、Benalish Emissary 、Obsidian Acolyte といったカードが出現した。
そして森田はここで Distorting Wake をピック。強烈に「青」を主張しつつエンドカードの方を選んだことになるのだが、当然下家の Van Cleave は Angel of Mercy をピックしたわけで、後々色がかぶってしまう元凶となったのだった。
森田は Distorting Wake 、Vodalian Serpent 、Lotus Guardian 、Harrow*2 、Rampant Elephant 、Sunscape Apprentice 、Verduran Emissary 、Thornscape Apprentice 、Tower Drake といったカードでのトリーヴァカラーでの発進となったわけである。
興味深かったのは、6 パック目で Serpentine Kavu との二択で Verduran Emissary をピックしていたことだ。
Trey Van Cleave は Angel of Mercy 、Fact or Fiction 、Prohibit 、Recover、Sleeper's Robe 、hypnotic Cloud 、Annihilate･･･といったドロマーカラー。
David Humpherys は初手の Salt Marsh から一貫してクローシスカラーを決めうった。Vodalian Zombie 、Probe 、Exotic Curse、Duskwalker、Annihilate、Repulse といったカードをピックしている。
Planeshift
これまたゴッドレア不在、Flametongue Kavu 不在の Planeshift であった。
印象的だったのはドロマーカラーの Van Cleave に見事なタイミングで 2 枚の Dromar's Charm がまわってきたことくらいだろうか。
森田が Own Pack から出現した Magma Burst をピックしていることも強調しておこう。勿論、森田はこれまでがトリーヴァカラーであったわけで 2 枚の Harrow を頼りにこれをデッキに投入することになるのかは非常に興味ぶかいところだ。
Apocalypse
またまた波乱なし。
森田も Van Cleave も Humpherys も一様に「まあまあのデッキが出来たかなあ」といったようなコメントとなっている。
Jilt や Illuminate がやたらと出現していたのは気になったものだが、波乱万丈のヘイトドラフトモード突入にもならなかったものだった。
