The Grand Prix Helsinki is a big Qualifier tournament with eight invitations to Magic : The Gathering Pro Tour Los Angeles in January 2001, and a 15,000 USD cash purse.

To register, call Wizards of the coast Customer Service from September 11 for Legend Members, and September 14 for Mana Members, between 10 am and 12 pm local time.

The main tournament at Grand Prix Helsinki is open to Magic: The Gathering® players of all ages. In the event that a player who wins an invitation to Pro Tour Los Angeles at a Grand Prix event has already qualified for an invitation, the invitation shall be extended to the next-best finisher in that Grand Prix. Previous qualification may be through a Qualifier tournament, through performance at a professional tournament, or by being an invited DCI player (valid on the date of the official rank announcement for the appropriate professional tournament).

Tournament Structure
Grand Prix Helsinki will be modified Swiss-style (fifty-minute rounds; number of rounds determined by number of participants), with the Top 64 players advancing to the second day of competition for prizes and invitations.

Tournament Byes
(Byes are not cumulative throughout the season or year.)
Byes do not pass down under any circumstances. Byes based on rank announcements will be made four weeks prior to the event.

The Top 32 Grand Prix players split 15.000 US$ in cash prizes.
