The following information is for those players who have qualified through a Junior Super Series challenge to compete in the Junior Super Series Championships. This information will help you to prepare now to attend in June.

If you have not yet qualified, please take a look at our Challenge information and Schedule.

What and Where:

The 2001 Magic: The Gathering JSS Championship will be held at Disney's Wide World of SportsTM, Fieldhouse, June 1-3, 2001. Total scholarship prize to be awarded is $100,000.

Accommodations:

Disney's Sports Reservations are the official travel planers for the U.S. Nationals. They have arranged the following:

Two night hotel and Theme Park Packages starting at $124*

Two night room packages starting at $44*

*Above lead-in package rates listed are a PER PERSON, inclusive rate based on four people in a room. Above packages are available pre-arrival only, based on availability. Prices are subject to change. Additional adult charges may apply. Specially priced Theme Park tickets are valid only on the specific dates of the event and for a limited period of time before and/or after the event.

TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THESE PACKAGES, YOU MUST MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS NO LATER THAN MAY 19, 2001.

Note: A shuttle is available to carry passengers between the Renaissance Hotel and Disney's Wide World of SportsTM Complex. There is no charge to Junior Super Series players and friends and families of these players. The shuttles will begin running at 7:00 A.M. on Friday, June 1; Saturday, June 2; and Sunday, June 3, and will run until the venue closes each of those days. Please see the shuttle schedule for precise times.

  Constructed Tournament using the Standard-format (Type II) rules. Deck lists are required and may be obtained when tickets are purchased.
2:00 P.M. 103 $20 US Open Qualifier - Limited
  Sealed Deck Tournament with one InvasionTM tournament pack, two PlaneshiftTM booster per player.
4:00 P.M. 104 $15 US Open Qualifier - Standard
  Constructed Tournament using the Standard-format (Type II) rules. Deck lists are required and may be obtained when tickets are purchased.
*The cost of one open event will be reduced by the cost of Disney admission. Disney admission ticket required.

Challenge Richard Garfield!

Come challenge Richard Garfield, the creator of Magic: the Gathering. He will take on all challengers at the Gun Slinging table. Look for him on Saturday, June 2, from 12-3pm and Sunday, June 3, from 10am-1pm.

Meet Your Head Judge - James Do Hung Lee

James Do Hung LeeJunior Super Series Championship head judge, James Lee, comes with excellent judging credentials. As a judge for five years in the Chicago area, James earned respect from players and fellow judges. James has judged on the highest levels of Magic, including the Pro Tour and World Chmpionships. James also has significant experience in Junior program judging and was the head judge for the 2000 Junior Super Series Championship. As a former pastor, he is very approachable and loves to discuss tournament issues or life in general with parents of the competitors. Feel free to approach him after the tournament is completed for the day!

Visit the Deck Doctor!

On Saturday and Sunday, meet with the deck doctor, Pro Player Warren Marsh, for some Standard deck advice! Our Dr. will be available from 10am -6pm on Saturday, June 2 and 10am-3pm on Sunday, June 3!
