Room Rates*

  • Inside cabins:
    $90.00 per night for a single/double occupancy
  • Outside staterooms:
    $114.00 per night for a single/double occupancy

*The charge for each additional person above the noted occupancy (more than two people in a double) is $15.00 per person. Rollaway beds are available for $15.00 per night and must be requested when you make your reservation.

Check-in time is after 4:00 P.M., and check-out time is at noon.

Nonsmoking Environment
Please note that the Queen Mary Exhibition Hall is a nonsmoking facility. Ashtrays are provided outdoors just outside of the main entrance. Because we care about the health of our guests, this nonsmoking rule will be strictly enforced.

Please note that there are a limited number of rooms available at the $84.00 rate. They are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To obtain the Pro Tour - Los Angeles rates, please book your reservation under Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour - Los Angeles by January 14, 2001**

Parking
Self-parking is available for $8.00 per car per day. The charge for oversized vehicles is $10.00 per vehicle per day. Ship-side valet parking is available for an additional $5.00 per car per day.

Directions to the Queen Mary
The Queen Mary is located on the water in Long Beach at the south end of the 710 freeway. From Los Angeles International Airport (23 miles), take the 405 freeway south to 710 South. From the John Wayne International Airport (25 miles), take the 405 freeway north to 710 South.

You can call the Super Shuttle at (310) 782-6600 or (800) BLUE-VAN (800-258-3826) to arrange for transportation from Los Angeles International Airport to the hotel. The one-way cost is approximately $15.00. A free shuttle also runs from the hotel to downtown Long Beach every ten to fifteen minutes between 6:00 A.M. and midnight. Player Registration, Tournament Format, and Schedule

PLAYER REGISTRATION

Mandatory Player Registration
Registration is from 7:00 to 10:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 1, in the Britannia Salon aboard the Queen Mary. When you arrive at the hotel, look for signs stating the exact location of player registration.

To ensure that the tournament starts promptly, rules questions will be answered only during player registration--not during the players meeting.

Mandatory Players Meeting
The players meeting begins at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, February 2, aboard the Queen Mary. You are responsible for all information presented in the players meeting.

You must have the following items to check in:

  • A signed waiver
  • Acceptable form of identification (one of the following):
    • a driver's license, or
    • a copy of your birth certificate and a photo ID (school ID is acceptable), or
    • a passport

Late Registration Policy
To ensure that the tournament starts promptly, all competitors must register during the scheduled Thursday evening registration. Players must confirm late registration with Pamela Wilson at (425) 204-8025 or pamelaw@wizards.com.

Competitors must return their registration form and waiver to Wizards of the Coast by Friday, January 26, 2001.

Information for Finals Competition
Important information for players making the on-camera finals:

  1. Coins, card sleeves, and premium cards cannot be used on the table because of glare from the lights.
  2. Note pads can be used on the table.
  3. A make-up advisor will be on site for hygiene issues such as hair, nails, shaving, and so on.
  4. Finals players may be required to change their shirts. Our criteria include, but are not limited to, non-white, non-offensive language, and designs agreeable to the camera.
  5. Players will be asked to play with permanents in certain arrangements, such as lands below other permanents, cards closer together, and so on.
  6. Players will receive instructions during play, such as being asked to move their hands back.
  7. Players will be asked to wear microphones. We therefore ask that there be no swearing and that players refrain from saying things that could be considered grossly offensive.
