Congratulations on qualifying for Magic: The Gathering® Pro Tour™-New York. This sheet will provide you with important information to prepare now for the September event.

The first stop of the 2000-2001 Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour will be held in New York, New York, September 29-October 1, 2000.

The Top 4 teams will compete in single-elimination Team Rochester draft rounds on Sunday, October 1.
Awards ceremony will immediately follow the finals.

Masters Series

Invitation List

The Masters Series is an invitation-only tournament to be held in conjunction with Pro Tour-New York. The 32-person field is composed of the Top 25 players based on the Pro Tour-New York 1999/2000 Pro Standing, the Top 5 DCI rated Extended players (based on the ratings published 8/14/00), and the Top 2 finishers of the Gateway Tournament (see below).

Gateway Tournament

The Masters Series Gateway Tournament is open to all players with 6 or more Pro Points as of the Pro Tour-New York 1999/2000 Pro Standing. The Gateway Tournament awards two invitations to the Masters Series which immediately follows the Gateway Tournament. The format of the Gateway Tournament is the same as the format of the Master Series Tournament, which is single-elimination Extended Constructed.

The Gateway Tournament and the first two rounds of the Master Series Tournament will be held at Neutral Ground New York.

Registration for the Gateway Tournament begins at 8:00 AM on Thursday, September 28 and the tournament begins at 9:00 AM sharp. There is no admission charge for the Gateway Tournament.

Masters Series Schedule

After the Gateway Tournament has been completed, the Masters Series will begin at Neutral Ground New York. Spectators are encouraged.

PLEASE NOTE
Pro Tour registration for the Masters Series Competitors will occur from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Thursday, September 28, 2000 at Neutral Ground. Players who are not in the Masters Series must go to Madison Square Garden to register from 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM, Thursday, September 28, 2000.

Standard format (Type II) rules apply. Top player receives a $1000 scholarship. All players receive a Premium card with entry. For players 15 and under. Registration begins at 9:00 A.M., Play begins at 10:00 A.M.
10:00 A.M. 203 $5 Extended Tournament
      Constructed Tournament using the Extended-format rules.
12:00 P.M. 204 $18 Invasion™ Limited Tournament
Sealed Deck tournament with one Invasion tournament pack, and two Invasion boosters per player.

Constructed Tournament using the Standard-format (Type II) rules

Constructed Tournament using the Extended-format rules.

Note: All events follow the Swiss-style pairings structure unless otherwise indicated.

Overnight Events
Wizards of the Coast, Inc. starting Friday, September 29, will again offer tournaments twenty-four hours a day at Pro Tour-New York! The following Magic: the Gathering tournaments will be added as requested (subject to space and judge availability):
