What deck are you playing and why?

Modern is a format defined by its variety of decks. With options available from the fastest aggro and combo decks to the slowest control options — and every flavor in between — deck choice is a defining decision for every player sleevingc up cards this weekend in Oklahoma City.

“I'm playing Blue-Red Splinter Twin because it's the most powerful deck. I had a hard time choosing a deck for this event and one that fits my playstyle, so I wanted to just do the most powerful thing.”

Paul Cheon

“I'm playing Grixis Twin. It's such as open field and Grixis is great for tackling a wide range of decks. The black allows you to grind out the matchups where it's hard to combo, and you still have the combo to be as fast as the aggressive decks.”

Sam Pardee

“I'm play Blue-Red Splinter Twin. I don't think it's betterthan the other Twin builds, but it's the one I've played the most. I think it's the best deck in the format because it can play unfair and beat the other unfair decks, but you can also play blue-red control and beat the fair decks.”

Nathan Holiday

“I'm playing White-Blue Control, similar to Yuuya's list from Worlds. I think Kitchen Finks is really well-positioned and Dragonlord Ojutai is pretty good, especially with Minamo, School at Water's Edge. I like decks where I don't have to worry about protecting my threats, and this deck just goes over the top.”
