Pro Tour-Charleston Preview: First Steps, by Brian David-Marshall

Charleston, South Carolina is nestled deep in Southern history and hospitality. Classic mansions and lush gardens are around every corner. Fort Sumter, where the first shots were fired during the U.S. Civil War, is situated on Charleston Harbor. Virtually unaltered since 1858, the expansive Aiken-Rhett House stands as the most intact urban villa showcasing life in antebellum Charleston. The Pro Tour visits Charleston on June 16-18.

Pro Tour-Charleston is a Team Ravnica Block Constructed format event with a last-chance qualifier run the day before the event starts. But you don't have to be a Pro to enjoy the Pro Tour -- there will be wall-to-wall Magic to play in Side Events all weekend with amazing prizes.

Player registration will occur Thursday, June 15 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at:

Charleston Area Convention Center
Halls B & C
5001 Coliseum Drive
North Charleston, South Carolina 29418

Players must have a signed waiver and consent form to compete at Pro Tour-Charleston. Forms can be downloaded at www.wizards.com/protour and will be available onsite. Minors must have a parent or guardian’s signature on these forms.
Bring these forms with you to registration. We will make forms available for competitors at registration, if necessary.
To register, all participants must present one of the following forms of identification:

  • a driver’s license, or
  • a passport, or
  • a copy of a birth certificate and photo IDs (school IDs are acceptable).

We encourage players to attend mandatory registration on Thursday. However we understand that delays might cause players to miss this and we have a registration on Friday morning between 7:30 and 8:30. Players at late registration do not always receive the same gifts as those at mandatory registration.
Players not registered by 8:30 on June 16 may be denied entry to the Pro Tour.
If you anticipate any difficulty registering during the official registration hours, please contact Scott Larabee at (206) 793-3534 or scott.larabee@wizards.com.

Meet your favorite artists and have them sign your cards. Currently scheduled to appear are:

More information about each artist can be found here.

All of Sunday's Top 4 action can be viewed on a projection screen in the hall, with announcers Randy Buehler and Brian David-Marshall providing full commentary. Sunday's action begins at 10:45 a.m. ET, and is also available as a webcast from the comfort of your own home.
