2011 Magic Online Championship is Set!

Twelve of the best Magic Online players will meet in San Francisco, California at the 2011 Magic: The Gathering World Championships and battle for their share of $100,000 dollars! After an exciting 10 seasons, here are your Magic Online Championship Series finalists!

2011 Magic Online Championship Details

START TIME: The 2011 Magic Online Championship begins Thursday, November 17 and takes place over 4 days at the 2011 Magic: The Gathering World Championships. Events will be scheduled so registered players can compete in both events.
LOCATION: Live at the Magic World Championships in San Francisco.
ENTRY FEE: None – Invitation Only.
FORMAT: The 2011 Magic Online Championship features several formats over four days:

  • Thursday, November 17: Standard Constructed, 4 rounds, Swiss pairings
  • Friday, November 18: Innistrad Booster Draft, 3 rounds, Swiss pairings
  • Saturday, November 19: Modern Constructed, 4 rounds, Swiss pairings
  • Sunday, November 20: Modern Constructed Championship Finals, 1 round, single elimination
SIZE: 12 Players.
SCORING: Each of the first three events will award championship points based on the number of match wins as follows:

Each player's earned championship points will be totaled after the first 3 events. The top 2 players will advance to the Championship Finals on Sunday, while the remaining players' standings will be based on the number of championship points earned. DCI tie-breakers will be aggregated across all three tournaments and used if needed.
PRIZES: Prizes are based on final standings at the end of the tournament:

2nd$17,000 USD , 1 complete premium foil digital set (players choice), and 1 complete standard digital set (players choice)
3rd - 4th$9,000 USD and 1 complete standard digital set (players choice)
5th - 8th$6,000 USD and 1 complete standard digital set (players choice)
9th - 12th$4,000 USD and 1 complete standard digital set (players choice)

Participants must play on the Magic Online account that they used to qualify for the 2011 Magic Online and supply their own decks for the constructed portions of the event. Product will be provided for the Innistrad draft. Players must play in the 2011 MOCS Championship to be eligible for the prizes
