Hexproof is a powerful weapon against decks loaded with spot removal. As it turns out, one of the strongest decks, Black Devotion, is full of targeted removal spells looking to trade cards. A deck full of hexproof creatures can take away the primary game plan of Black Devotion decks by not giving them any targets for their Hero's Downfalls.

Ethereal Armor

Gladecover Scout, Witchstalker, and Bassara Tower Archer are not particularly impressive creatures; they are played because they are hard to remove from the battlefield. To compensate for weak stats, Auras and other pump spells are vital to this deck's success. Ethereal Armor is the strongest of these, and rewards you for playing lots of Auras and other enchantments. The combination of Boros Charm and Ghor-Clan Rampager works wonders here as an all-in move that is tough to answer.

One of the more subtle things about this decklist is the generous use of Temples: 10 of the 22 lands in this deck are Temples that come into play tapped, giving the deck some added consistency in exchange for speed. This deck is definitely overwhelming once it can enchant a hexproof creature a few times, so this tradeoff makes sense for this deck.
