Mike Turian's White-Blue-Black Go Mar

Download Arena Decklist

In celebration of the impending release of Shards of Alara, Daily Decks looks at past creations that combined the colors of Magic into those of the shards found in Alara. An early champion of Esper, Pro Tour Hall of Fame member Mike Turian played this blue-black-white Go Mar list to the Top 8 of the 2001 Barcelona Masters Series. Using familiars of the Sun and Nightscape persuasion to make counterspells and removal like Recoil and Exclude cost less, Mike attempted to stall his opponent long enough to deliver the coup de grace: Dromar, the Banisher. The gigantic 6/6 not only flew over his opponent's defenses to bash for a third of their life total, but also allowed him to pay in order to bounce all creatures of a chosen color, potentially nullifying his opponent's entire team! Check out a Shards of Alara preview card from Esper here and make sure to visit the Shards of Alara product section.
