In celebration of the impending release of Shards of Alara, Daily Decks looks at past creations that combined the colors of Magic into those of the shards found in Alara. Perhaps the earliest of these triads to show up on the Magic tournament scene was black-red-green, the colors of Jund, represented at the very first Pro Tour by George Baxter. His innovative deck was simply called "Goodstuff" because it played the best black, red, and green cards he could fit into the deck. By the time he was making his first Top 8, Baxter had already made a name for himself by writing numerous strategy books about Magic: The Gathering.
