As Pauper is a large, non-rotating format, I don't often expect it to change a lot, but a new set is still often good for a deck or two, and with Dragon's Maze, Nivix Cyclops—a card I've been a little disappointed with in Limited—appears to have been the necessary card to put UR Kiln Fiend over the top. I assume the deck could have, or possibly did, exist in the past with Wee Dragonauts in that slot, but getting 3 extra power rather than 2 is a pretty big deal when the plan is to cast a lot of spells in a turn.

Nivix Cyclops

This deck also has the honor of being a two-color aggressive deck in a format where, because the mana is bad and the card pool is deep, that almost never happens. Fortunately, access to Ponder and Preordain, which are too strong for Modern (along with Manamorphose), allows the mana to work in this deck fairly easily, and allows it to function with relatively few threats, even though it has to find one very quickly. PigNorton managed to go undefeated in another Daily Event with an even more dedicated build that played Serum Visions and Sleight of Hand to find Kiln Fiend or Nivix Cyclops, and didn't even bother with Delver of Secrets.

Delver of Secrets is awesome with so many spells, especially with ways to set the top of your library, but I could imagine leaving it out, since the plan is to win in a single big swing, rather than holding out for several turns while chipping 3 life away at a time.
