Berlin, Germany is the second stop in the 2008 Pro Tour season. But the pros won't be the only ones enjoying themselves: the Pro Tour is above all a great weekend of Magic that brings fantastic opportunities for all players, whether you're qualified for the main event, participating in public events, playing against the people who make Magic, or just hanging around with your friends.

Pro Tour–Berlin is an Extended format event that runs October 31-November 2, 2008. The Last-Chance Qualifier will be held Thursday at the event hall (registration starts at 3 p.m.). For more information, visit the complete Public Events schedule.

Tournament Format and Schedule

Pro Tour–Berlin is a three-day Extended format event with a prize purse of $230,795. For more information about the format, schedule, and prize payout, click here.

Store Challenge

A special Two-Headed Giant tournament will be held at Pro Tour–Berlin. Local German stores will be contacted by Wizards of the Coast leading up to the event, with exclusive prizes given to the top three teams. Click here for more information.

Hotel Information

We recommend players book accommodations at Mercure Hotel Berlin Mitte, Luckenwalder Strasse 11 10963 Berlin.

If this hotel is not available, any hotel near Potsdamer Platz will be close to the venue.

Media Requests

Please contact Hélène Bergeot at if you wish to set up a press credential for Pro Tour–Berlin. Wizards asks that all media requests be submitted by October 24 (one week prior to the event).

Pro Tour-Berlin Registration will take place at the same location from 18:00 – 21:00.

Players must have a signed waiver and consent form to compete at Pro Tour-Berlin. Forms can be downloaded at and will be available onsite.

Minors must have a parent or guardian’s signature on these forms. Minors will not be able to register or play unless we receive a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. No exceptions!

Bring these forms with you to registration. We will make forms available for competitors at registration, if necessary.

To register, all participants must present one of the following forms of identification:

  • a driver’s license, or
  • a passport, or
  • a copy of a birth certificate and photo IDs (school IDs are acceptable).

We encourage players to attend mandatory registration on Thursday. However we understand that delays might cause players to miss this and we have a registration on Friday morning between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Players at late registration do not always receive the same gifts as those at mandatory registration.

Players not registered by 8:30 on October 31 may be denied entry to the Pro Tour.

Site Attractions


Come one, come all to participate in four days of events open to the public. Starting Thursday with the Last-Chance Qualifier, there are tournaments, drafts, and leagues all weekend. Prizes include invitations and airfare to Pro Tour–Kyoto and Pro Tour–Honolulu, iPods, Digital Cameras, a set of 30 Revised Dual Lands, and a trip to the 2008 World Championships in Memphis, USA! Pro Tour–Berlin also features Super Friday Night Magic and the €2,000 Draft Challenge.

Test your Magic skills against the guys who make the game Pro Tour–Berlin 2008 will feature these members of Magic R&D: Mark Gottlieb and Scott Johns. Win and you get to walk away with cool Magic prizes!

Top Magic artists John Avon, Zoltan Boros, and Gabor Szikszai will be at Pro Tour–Berlin. The artists booth will be open Friday-Sunday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. For more information about each artist, click here.

All of Sunday's Top 8 action can be viewed screens in the hall, with Randy Buehler and Brian David-Marshall providing the play-by-play and color commentary. Sunday's action begins at 10:45 a.m. local time, which is 4:45 a.m. ET, and is available as a webcast from the comfort of your own home.
