Something for Legacy Veterans

Any casual observer might not recognize today's deck as a Legacy staple, but it's one of the many decks that exist in Legacy without ever breaking through to the big time. This deck is known as "Nic Fit," but I'd prefer to call it BUG Midrange so players unfamiliar with Legacy have an idea of what the deck is and how the deck works.

Veteran Explorer

The deck revolves around finding Veteran Explorer and killing it to get some extra lands, which fuel your late game. There are few Legacy decks that run many basic lands, so you're generally getting the better end of the bargain. Green Sun's Zenith provides a toolbox, allowing you to find more lands with Veteran Explorer or Coiling Oracle, a Regrowth via Eternal Witness, or some life with Thragtusk.

If you need a threat, Thrun, the Last Troll is one of the best around—I recommend sacrificing Veteran Explorer to your opponent's Liliana of the Veil. In the late game, Damia, Sage of Stone is a very exciting way to keep the gas flowing.

Previous versions of this deck found it difficult to fit Brainstorm; Jace, the Mind Sculptor; and Force of Will, but Fizzeler makes it happen! While it used to suffer due to a poor combo matchup, this version doesn't seem to have those issues.
