Magic Online PTQs for Pro Tour Return to Ravnica are here! If you've been looking to qualify to come to Seattle and play some Modern, you won't want to miss these digital chances at a plane ticket. This past weekend kicked off the online qualifier season with a pair of PTQs full of exciting decklists. One such deck? Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas control!

The blue-black Planeswalker hasn't seen a ton of play lately, but Magic Online player BillyP cruised right into the Top 16 players with a new take on the Agent of Bolas. Twenty-two artifacts power the engine, ensuring Tezzeret has plenty of tools at his disposal. Ichor Wellspring and Mycosynth Wellspring provide the deck with additional card advantage, letting the deck's suite of removal spells clean up the board.

Once this deck has established an advantage, a stream of 5/5s from Tezzeret or a supercharged ultimate will threaten your opponents. If that isn't enough to finish them off, Wurmcoil Engine can show up close the games down.

One notable absence from this deck? Inkmoth Nexus! Normally prized with Tezzeret because of the ability to attack for five poison counters in two consecutive turns, BillyP eschewed them for this control deck. The land BillyP chose to run four copies of instead is the innocuous Phyrexia's Core. The card serves an incredible role in this deck, turning each Wellspring into an extra card and providing a few crucial points of life.

If you've been waiting for Tezzeret to make a reappearance, this looks like a great time to bust him out. Dust off your Tezzerets and give them a try at Friday Night Magic tonight!
