When Gavin Verhey was eleven, he dreamt of a job making Magic cards—and now as a Magic designer, he's living his dream! Gavin has been writing about Magic since 2005.

Everyone wants to build Commander decks with Planechase legendary creatures! Up this week is Thromok the Insatiable. This hungry, hungry creature loves to devour, and writer Cassidy McAuliffe took a look at a reader's Thromok deck. The result? A deck full of token-devouring goodness!

The most obvious with Thromok might just be with eating tokens, and Cassidy pulls no punches. Everything from Jade Mage to Sprout Swarm to Wolfbriar Elemental produces plenty of tokens for Thromok to munch on. With plenty of ways to provide Thromok haste, like Fires of Yavimaya and In the Web of War, the insatiable one can come down and immediately hit hard!

The deck is full of plenty of other ways to interact with all the tokens. Other devour creatures like Dragon Broodmother and Mycoloth can gobble up tokens as well—or even Thromok, if it's time to reset his counters. Fecundity keeps your hand full and your engine running, and a flipped Homura, Human Ascendant can just let you send in your tokens for the kill!

Cassidy has put Thromok to good use in this offering. Take a look at the full list to come up with some exciting new decks of your own, and don't miss Cassidy's article on this Commander deck!
