Tyler Blum and Jadine Klomparens were elated as they sat down for their finals match.

"Would you be the first woman to ever win a Grand Prix if you won this?"

"I don't know."

Jadine Klomparens

Klomparens didn't seem interested in being anything but the 2014 Grand Prix Chicago Champion.

Things got quiet when the players presented their decks. Blum kept his opening seven on the play, but Klomparens was forced down to five cards.

Both players had a Pack Rat on their second turn and Hero's Downfall on their third.

Klomparen's hand size would prove to be an issue, though. Blum found and stuck Underworld Connections first, and Klomparens could only cast Desecration Demon to trade with one of Blum's removal spells.

Without a threat, Blum started to get aggressive with a pair of Mutavaults.

Klomparens found her own Underworld Connections, but her life total was quickly dwindling. She had been buried in card advantage and couldn't find footing to get back into the game.

Klomparens went down to six cards and Blum kept his opening seven for the second game.

Blum led with Thoughtseize on the first turn, a backbreaking play against someone that started with less than seven cards on the play.

Blum's heroic Pack Rat fell down on Klomparens's third turn, but Nightveil Specter would go untouched.

Klomparens made Desecration Demon and attacked the following turn after both players summoned Erebos, God of the Dead. The Demon wouldn't last for long, though, Blum found Devour Flesh with Temple of Malady and dealt with Klomparens's Desecration Demon.

Blum's Nightveil Specter repeatedly got into the redzone, eventually finding Underworld Connections on the top of Klomparens's library. Erebos realized his physical form and made short work of Klomparens's life total.
