SEPTEMBER EPISODE

  • Magic Art Director and podcast regular Jeremy Jarvis delves into the world of Lorwyn, a land of fable. Going from the temporal chaos and blasted landscapes of Time Spiral to the idyllic fields of Lorwyn has swung the artistic pendulum across the spectrum. Throw in the designs for the five planeswalkers and you have a set rife with a stunning, evocative visual feel. Watch the enhanced podcast on iTunes for exclusive images from the new set.
  • Jeremy switches roles for the second segment, taking over the hosting job as he talks with noted fantasy artist Wayne Reynolds about his work on Lorwyn. Click here to see Wayne's pre-Lorwyn Magic art.
  • Jake takes back the reins for the third segment, talking with Director of Magic R&D Aaron Forsythe about his role as lead designer of Lorwyn. Get the lowdown on the tribes of Lorwyn and check out the podcast preview card Prowess of the Fair ... which just happens to take elves in a new direction (download the enhanced podcast via iTunes to see the card).
  • The next few weeks showcase some of Magic's marquee events. First there's the Lorwyn Prereleases on September 29-30, and then you'll want to hit your local retailer for the Lorwyn Release Events on October 12-14, when the set goes on sale. That same weekend the top players in the world head to Valencia for the final Pro Tour stop before Worlds, which kicks off our Sprint to the Title. Sixteen players in Valencia will continue their European vacation by traveling to Essen, Germany to take part in the 11th annual Magic Invitational on October 18-21. Also that weekend, the Grand Prix circuit visits Brisbane as pros travel the world in search of prize money and valuable Pro Points. Follow all the action right here at Magicthegathering.com.

WHAT IS PODCASTING?

Podcasting is delivering audio and video content on demand so that it can be enjoyed at the user's convenience. The main benefit of podcasting is that listeners can sync content to their media player and take it with them to listen whenever they want to. But they're not just for iPods…the files are ready to watch or listen to on just about any computer.

If you do not have iTunes:

  1. Go to http://www.apple.com/podcasting/
  2. Download iTunes version 7
  3. Launch iTunes.
  4. From the dropdown menus, select Advanced -- Subscribe to Podcast
  5. When prompted for a URL, enter http://www.wizards.com/magic/rsspodcast.xml and click OK.

Once you subscribe to the podcast, iTunes will automatically check for new files and download them to your computer. To ensure that you get timely updates, set your Podcast Settings to check for new episodes every hour (the Settings button is in the lower-right corner of the iTunes window, or you can find it under Edit -- Preferences -- Podcast).
