Aether Revolt Standard Championship qualifiers start tomorrow, February 22

The road to the Magic Online Aether Revolt Standard Championship begins tomorrow! Join the tournament and you'll receive a free alternate-art promo copy of Trophy Mage. Perform well enough, and you can net yourself an invitation to the Aether Revolt Standard Championship on March 5 and an alternate-art promo copy of Yahenni's Expertise. Aether Revolt Limited Championship on Saturday, February 25

The Aether Revolt Limited Championship is almost here! Qualifying players will be able to enter the final battle for great glory and even greater prizes! Find out more details here!


Kaladesh-Aether Revolt Sealed MOCS Monthly on Saturday, February 25

A Magic Online Championship Series (MOCS) Standard Monthly Event is coming up on February 25! Players can spend 35 Qualifier Points (QPs) to enter the event. The series will contain 24 Monthly Events, each of which qualify top players for one of the four Playoff Events. These Playoff Events qualify top players for the Magic Online Championship, a Pro Tour, and the Pro Tour Challenge event at that Pro Tour.

Monthly and Playoff Events also award top players MOCS Leaderboard Points for the year as a whole. Top players on the Leaderboard at the end of the 2017 MOCS will qualify for the year-end Championship event.

Amonkhet Sealed Pro Tour Qualifier on Sunday, February 26

Attention all Pro Tour hopefuls: a Pro Tour Qualifier (PTQ) is approaching! The Sealed Pro Tour Qualifier Preliminaries begin Thursday, February 23, and run through Tuesday, February 28. We hope to see you in the PTQ Finals on Sunday, February 26!

Remember, you are no longer required to enter into the PTQ Finals immediately following the Preliminary that you qualified through, thanks to the redesigned PTQ system that Magic Online Events Manager Lee Sharpe announced here.

Streamer Showdown on Thursday, February 23

There will be a new Streamer Showdown this Thursday. If you've never seen a Streamer Showdown before, they come in two eight-player events that feature some of the best streamers in the community brawling it out on Magic Online. If you're trying to improve your game, Magic Online streamers are some of the best players out there—and some of the best teachers, too. Even if you're already a Magic pro, throw your support behind one of the competitors and cheer them on from their Twitch chat!

The MOPR Promo Card period for March begins tomorrow, February 22

With a new month comes new MOPR Promo Cards, and the period for March's Promo Cards begins tomorrow, February 22. This months cards are alternate-art versions of Hero's Downfall for Event Participation and Incendiary Flow for Store Activity, which can be seen below.

Players who participate in at least one Constructed, Sealed Deck, or Draft Tournament with a minimum of 8 players will receive a regular version of the alternate-art Hero's Downfall. Players who participate in at least five such event with a minimum of eight players will receive a premium version of the card.

Players who spend a full 20 USD in the Magic Online Store (excluding coupons, shipping, and taxes) will receive a regular version of the alternate-art Incendiary Flow. Players who spend a full 40 USD in the Magic Online Store (excluding coupons, shipping, and taxes) will receive a premium version of the card.



Upcoming extended downtime tomorrow, February 22

There will be an extended downtime on Wednesday, February 22, for Magic Online. Events close at 12:00 a.m. PT/8 a.m. UTC (that's midnight Pacific), and store activity and trades end at 2:45 a.m. leading up to the system coming down at 3:00 a.m. The system is estimated to return from downtime at 12:00 p.m.
