Aether Revolt launches for Magic Online tomorrow, January 25!
Aether Revolt will officially arrive on Magic Online following the downtime tomorrow, January 25. We will no longer be running Prereleases in Magic Online and will instead be launching directly into events. For details on the new release structure and what events will be available, check the announcement here.
Upcoming Power Nine Challenge on Saturday, January 28

Pauper, Modern, Kaladesh Limited, and Legacy Cube leagues end tomorrow! Finish your games!
New Pauper, Modern, and Limited leagues will be starting soon, but Legacy Cube drafts are ending tomorrow, so make sure to get your last games in! For more information on the Legacy Cube, including card lists and prizes, check here.

The February MOPR Promo period begins tomorrow, January 25
The February MOPR period runs from January 25, 2017, through February 22, 2017. Here are the promo cards:

Play in one or more events during the February MOPR period and you'll get a non-premium Mind Stone. Five or more and you'll get an additional premium Mind Stone. Spend at least $20 total in the Magic Online Store during this MOPR period and you'll get a non-premium Fortune's Favor. By spending $40 or more, you'll get an additional premium Fortune's Favor.
Kaladesh Prestige Avatars awarded tomorrow
Players with enough trophies in Magic Online leagues will be awarded Prestige Avatars. Want to show off your accomplishment to your buddies and opponents? You can change your avatar in Account Settings!
Extended downtime tomorrow, January 25
There will be an extended downtime on Wednesday, January 25, for Magic Online. Events close at 12:00 a.m. PT/8 a.m. UTC (that's midnight Pacific), and store activity and trades end at 2:45 a.m. leading up to the system coming down at 3:00 a.m. The system is estimated to return from downtime at 12:00 p.m.
Build notes
We will have a new build of Magic Online live tomorrow after the downtime. Here are the changes to expect:
General | Aether Revolt is deployed to Magic Online.
General | Corrected all links in the EULA to direct to the proper pages.
General | New Product Window settings will now be remembered more consistently.
General | Updated copywrite year in legal text.
General | Added the Kaladesh prestige avatars to qualifying accounts, which you can read about in this article.
General | Fixed an issue causing Unhinged land art to appear distorted.
Collection | The promo version of Time Spiral now includes art.
Collection | You can now find flip cards when searching for text present on the bottom of the card.
Duel Scene | Fixed an error that was preventing players from tapping newly played lands.
Commander | Thelon of Havenwood is providing bonuses to Thallids with spore counters correctly.
Commander | Added a commander damage display. Learn more in Alli Medwin’s article.
Modern | Fixed an error that would sometimes cause Hero of Bladehold's tokens to enter the battlefield but not be attacking.
Modern | Fixed the error causing Saffi Eriksdotter's delayed trigger to have no effect.
Modern | Discarding Bridge from Below to the ability of Insolent Neonate now correctly creates a zombie token.
Modern | Porphyry Nodes no longer causes a soft-lock when there are two creatures tied for the lowest power and the controller has selected to Always Yield to the triggered effect.
Modern | Revenge of the Hunted now correctly forces all of the opponent's creatures to block the targeted creature.
Modern| Fixed an issue that caused Rite of Ruin to occasionally sacrifice the wrong number of lands.
Standard | Players can now view the top seven cards of their library when playing Deploy the Gatewatch, even if there are no planeswalkers in those cards.
Standard | Hitting CTRL+Z after selecting lands for Fork in the Road no longer has any effect.
NOTE: Tomorrow’s update will introduce a bug that affects resolving the abilities for Narset Transcendent, Domri Rade, and Scrying Sheets that reveal cards from the top of your library. Full details on how to work around this issue can be found on the MTGO Tumblr. We expect to have a fix out before the weekend.
