Hour of Devastation Standard Pro Tour Qualifier on Saturday, March 25

Attention all Pro Tour hopefuls: a Pro Tour Qualifier (PTQ) is approaching! We hope to see you in the PTQ Finals on Saturday, March 25!

Remember, the Pro Tour Qualifier Preliminaries now follow a set weekly schedule, thanks to the redesigned PTQ system that Magic Online Events Manager Lee Sharpe announced here.

Modern MOCS Monthly on Sunday, March 26

A Magic Online Championship Series (MOCS) Modern Monthly Event is coming up on March 26! Players can spend 35 Qualifier Points (QPs) to enter the event. The series will contain 24 Monthly Events, each of which qualify top players for one of the four Playoff Events. These Playoff Events qualify top players for the Magic Online Championship, a Pro Tour, and the Pro Tour Challenge event at that Pro Tour.

Monthly and Playoff Events also award top players MOCS Leaderboard Points for the year as a whole. Top players on the Leaderboard at the end of the 2017 MOCS will qualify for the year-end Championship event.

Constructed Pro Tour Qualifier Preliminaries switch to Modern after Saturday, March 25

Starting Sunday, March 26, all Constructed Pro Tour Qualifier Preliminaries for Pro Tour Hour of Devastation will be Modern. This will continue until April 9, at which point they will revert back to Standard. They will still follow the schedule outlined here.

Extended downtime tomorrow, March 22

There will be an extended downtime on Wednesday, March 22, for Magic Online. Events close at 12:00 a.m. PT/7 a.m. UTC (that's midnight Pacific), and store activity and trades end at 2:45 a.m. leading up to the system coming down at 3:00 a.m. The system is estimated to return from downtime at 12:00 p.m.

Streamer Showdown on Thursday, March 23

There will be a new Streamer Showdown this Thursday. If you've never seen a Streamer Showdown before, they come in two eight-player events that feature some of the best streamers in the community brawling it out on Magic Online. If you're trying to improve your game, Magic Online streamers are some of the best players out there—and some of the best teachers, too. Even if you're already a Magic pro, throw your support behind one of the competitors and cheer them on from their Twitch chat!

Duel Scene | Improved display feedback on buttons in the prompt box.

General | Fixed several crashes players could encounter on log in.

Duel Scene | Visual indicator improvements have been made to cards that cause different effects across multiple targets.

Limited | Monstrous Onslaught now triggers correctly off of controller’s creatures instead of owner’s creatures when cast via cards such as Gonti, Lord of Luxury.

Modern | The first ability of Sorin, Solemn Visitor now correctly lasts until its controller's next turn.

Modern | Colored mana from two different Cavern of Souls cards now show separately.

Modern | Vanish Into Memory now correctly causes the caster to discard.

Modern | Reality Smasher's triggered ability now only triggers once for each spell that targets it.

Modern | Cards that reduce the costs of other cards, such as Goblin Electromancer, now correctly affect alternate costs like buyback and multikicker.

Vintage | Spell copies created by Eye of the Storm no longer trigger Eye of the Storm.

Vintage | Natural Balance now allows players with less than four lands to search their libraries.

Vintage | Selecting a split card to exile from your hand with Scroll Rack now returns the correct number of cards to your hand.
