Hollywood, USA is the second stop in the 2008 Pro Tour season. But the pros won't be the only ones enjoying themselves: the Pro Tour is above all a great weekend of Magic that brings fantastic opportunities for all players, whether you're qualified for the main event, participating in public events, playing against the people who make Magic, or just hanging around with your friends.

Pro Tour–Hollywood is a Standard format event that runs May 23-25, 2008. The Last-Chance Qualifier will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. For more information, visit the complete Public Events schedule.

  • Valet Parking - $31.00 per day, and includes in/out privileges

Player Pool Party and Pro Tour Registration

The Pro Tour-Hollywood Player Pool Party will occur at:

Time: 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Pro Tour-Hollywood Registration will take place at the same location from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Players must have a signed waiver and consent form to compete at Pro Tour-Valencia. Forms can be downloaded at and will be available onsite.

Minors must have a parent or guardian’s signature on these forms. Minors will not be able to register or play unless we receive a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. No exceptions!

Bring these forms with you to registration. We will make forms available for competitors at registration, if necessary.

To register, all participants must present one of the following forms of identification:

  • a driver’s license, or
  • a passport, or
  • a copy of a birth certificate and photo IDs (school IDs are acceptable).

We encourage players to attend mandatory registration on Thursday. However we understand that delays might cause players to miss this and we have a registration on Friday morning between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Players at late registration do not always receive the same gifts as those at mandatory registration.

Players not registered by 8:30 a.m. on May 23 may be denied entry to the Pro Tour.

Friday, May 23: 7:30 a.m. - 3 a.m.
Saturday, May 24: 8 a.m. - 3 a.m.
Sunday, May 25: 9 a.m. - Midnight (12 a.m.)

Please contact Hélène Bergeot at if you wish to set up a press credential for Pro Tour–Hollywood. Wizards asks that all media requests be submitted by May 16 (one week prior to the event).

Site Attractions

Come one, come all to participate in four days of events open to the public. Starting Thursday with the Last-Chance Qualifier, there are tournaments, drafts, and drawings all weekend. Prizes include invitations and airfare to Pro Tour-Berlin, a 160gb Apple TV, an iPod Touch, a set of 30 Revised Dual Lands, and a canvas Magic art print. Pro Tour-Hollywood also features Super Friday Night Magic and an unsanctioned 64-person free-for-all on Saturday night.

Test your Magic skills against the guys who make the game Pro Tour–Hollywood 2008 will feature four members of Magic R&D: Aaron Forsythe, Mike Turian, Erik Lauer, and Kenneth Nagle. Win and you get to walk away with cool Magic prizes!

All of Sunday's Top 8 action can be viewed screens in the hall, with Randy Buehler and Brian David-Marshall providing the play-by-play and color commentary. Sunday's action begins at 10:45 a.m. local time, which is 1:45 p.m. ET, and is available as a webcast from the comfort of your own home.
