San Diego, California has the nicest weather in the United States of America. That's not just an opinion; it's scientific fact! The average temperature ranges from 72 degrees Fahrenheit (22 Celsius) in August all the way down to 57 (14 Celsius) in January. This remarkably pleasant weather has led to a wide variety of outdoor activities and entertainments, from the world-class San Diego Zoo to Balboa Park and many fine beaches. It's also home to bases for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. And if you're looking for a more Mexican flavor, Tijuana is only a trolley ride away. Just blocks from the Convention Center, the Gaslamp Quarter is San Diego's center for dining and nightlife. And every year, San Diego is host to Comic Con International, the largest comic book and popular arts convention in the world which regularly boasts over 100,000 attendees. San Diegans are generally relaxed, happy, and proud to live in "America's Finest City."

This will be the fourth time the Pro Tour has come to San Diego. Previous stops provided such memorable events as Farid Meraghni's crowning achievement in his 2002 Rookie of the Year season, Nicolai Herzog's remarkable win in 2004 (in back-to-back Limited Pro Tours), and the Sliver-fueled triumph of Chris Lachmann and Jacob Van Lunen in 2007's Two-Headed Giant event.
