Of the 1934 players to attend Grand Prix Kyoto, only five players managed emerge unscathed. Pro Tour Dragons of Tarkir Finalist Shouta Yasooka leads the pack with OmniTell, a powerful combo deck involving Show and Tell and Omniscience. Two other players, namely Yashuhiro Ujima and Kenta Harane, also made the same deck choice.

Shohei Yamamoto also achieved the maximum 27 points in Day One with Esper Stoneblade, but perhaps the most surprising of all would be Ryuichi Shirakihara's success with his One-Land Charbelcher deck featuring the lone Stomping Ground!
