With four Grand Prix Top 8s to his name, Sweden's Elias Watsfeldt was still no match for Canada's Alexander Hayne. At least not when comparing their career stats. Currently ranked No. 22, Hayne could boast a whopping three Grand Prix wins out of five Top 8s with a Pro Tour victory to boot!

Watsfeldt was playing Red-Green-White Zoo, an old favorite that had fallen out of favor in modern Modern times but was currently experiencing something similar to a small comeback. Hayne, on the other hand, was running three-color Jeskai Ascendancy, one of the newest and most popular creations of the format.

As Zoo players are wont to do, Watsfeldt started aggressive with Loam Lion and Tarmogoyf. He then saved the Lion from Lightning Bolt via Mutagenic Growth and added another Loam Lion to his team.
